Effective interventions for the control of congestive heart failure in emergency units
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Avila Salazar, Jesela; Huaman Grandez, Maria Liseth; Gamarra Bustillos, Carlos
Objective: Establish effective interventions for the control of congestive heart failure in emergency units. Materials and methods: A systematic review was carried out, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice. Results: 10 systematically reviewed scientific articles on effective interventions for the control of congestive heart failure in emergency units were included in the review. The articles were located in the Lilacs, Medline, Ebsco and Pubmed databases; 70% (n = 07/10) of the articles reviewed agree and show that the administration of ASA diuretics, which act on the medullary portion of the loop of Henle, inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the thick ascending portion of the loop of Henle, Henle; belonging to Group II such as: furosemide, bumetanide, torsemide, ethacrynic acid, in bolus or infusion, are the most used; on the other hand, 30% of the articles reviewed (03/10) of the authors agree that educational interventions based on formative education is effective in improving the control of congestive heart failure. Conclusion: The articles reviewed show that the most effective intervention for heart failure in older adults is ASA diuretics and educational interventions based on training education are effective in improving the control of congestive heart failure in emergency units. .

Effectiveness of Continuous Infusion versus Bolus Administration of the diuretic Furosemide in the management of Acute Decompensated Heart Failure
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-12-03) Cabrera Alarcón, Gloria Adela; Cueva Velaisosa, María Susana; Matta Solis, Hernán Hugo
Objective: To systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of continuous infusion versus bolus administration of furosemide in the management of acute decompensated heart failure. Materials and Methods: This is a systematic, observational, and retrospective review of quantitative studies, critically selected, using the Grade evaluation system to determine the level of evidence. The articles were found in the following databases: PubMed, Open Access, Wiley Online Library, Science Direct, BioMed Central, and BMJ. Ten articles were systematically reviewed, of which 30% (n=3/10) were meta-analyses, and 70% (n=7/10) were randomized clinical trials. These studies were from the United States (40%), China (10%), Malaysia (10%), Italy (10%), Spain (10%), India (10%), and Portugal (10%). Results: 60% (n=6/10) indicate that continuous infusion is more effective than bolus administration of furosemide in managing acute decompensated heart failure. 40% (n=4/10) report no significant differences in safety or efficacy between continuous administration of furosemide and bolus injection in patients with acute decompensated heart failure. Conclusion: Continuous infusion is more effective than bolus administration of furosemide in managing acute decompensated heart failure.

Efficacy of nebulized furosemide for outpatient treatment of adult patients with asthma.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-26) Cerdán Campos, Edilberto; Huayhuas Taipe, Fany; Perez Siguas, Rosa Eva
Materials and Methods: The method is a systematic review, which simplifies the results of multiple primary investigations, using the GRADE system to identify the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendations. Results: According to the evidence from the studies, 90% (n=09/10) of the articles demonstrate that nebulizations with furosemide added to saline solution are effective in reducing bronchospasm in mild and moderate acute bronchial asthma. Similarly, 10% (n=01/10) of the studies found in the evidence on the effectiveness of furosemide used in nebulization suggest that, due to the relevance of the results, it cannot yet be considered an asthma medication, and it is recommended to conduct further studies with larger sample sizes. The studies in the systematic review were conducted in Cuba, Honduras, the United Kingdom, the United States, Spain, Mexico, and Italy. Conclusions: It is concluded that the use of furosemide in nebulization is effective for the outpatient treatment of adult patients with asthma.

Efficacy of nebulized furosemide in the outpatient treatment of adult patients with asthma.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-26) Huayhuas Taipe, Fany; Perez Siguas, Rosa Eva
Objective: To systematically analyze evidence regarding the efficacy of furosemide nebulization in reducing bronchospasms in patients with acute mild and moderate bronchial asthma. Materials and Methods: Systematic review methodology, synthesizing results from multiple primary studies. The GRADE system was used to assess evidence quality and recommendation strength. Results: 90% (n=09/10) of the reviewed articles demonstrate that nebulization with furosemide added to saline solution is effective in reducing bronchospasms associated with mild and moderate acute bronchial asthma. 10% (n=01/10) of the studies highlight the need for further research with larger sample sizes to conclusively establish furosemide as an antiasthmatic medication. Studies included in this systematic review originated from Cuba, Honduras, the United Kingdom, the United States, Spain, Mexico, and Italy. Conclusions: Furosemide nebulization is effective for outpatient treatment of mild and moderate bronchial asthma in adult patients. Further research with broader sample sizes is recommended to strengthen the evidence base and clarify its antiasthmatic potential.
