Calidad de vida en adultos mayores del Centro Geriátrico Casa Feliz de Lima, 2024

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo: Determinar la calidad de vida de los adultos mayores en el Centro Geriátrico. Este estudio utilizó una muestra de 81 adultos mayores con edades entre 60 y 90 años. Metodología: Es un estudio no experimental-transversal, de enfoque cuantitativo, aplicado y de nivel descriptivo. Para la realización de este estudio se empleó el cuestionario estructurado Short Form Health Survey 12, que posteriormente, se realizó los análisis estadísticos mediante el software STATA-16. Resultados: De los 81 adultos mayores encuestados (n=81), el 66.67% fue de sexo femenino (n=54) y el 33.33% del sexo masculino (n=27) con una mediana de edad de 75 años (RIC: 71-83). Los adultos mayores encuestados mostraron una moderada calidad de vida (56.67 puntos; DE± 12.9), donde el estado físico en promedio mostró 31.16 puntos (DE±7.37) y el estado mental en promedio mostró 25.50 puntos (DE±6.59). Conclusión: La calidad de vida de los adultos mayores encuestados fue “moderada” que implica la evaluación del estado físico y del estado mental.

Conocimiento sobre prevención de lesiones por presión y práctica en las enfermeras del servicio de atención domiciliaria de EsSalud, Lima - 2024

Introducción: las lesiones por presión representan un problema sanitario que afectan a miles de seres humanos perjudicando su condición y afectando su bienestar, en algunos casos, conduciendo a la discapacidad o agravando enfermedades degenerativas. Objetivo: “determinar cómo el conocimiento sobre prevención de lesiones por presión en el adulto mayor se relaciona con la práctica de las enfermeras del servicio de atención domiciliaria”. Metodología: se utilizará es hipotético deductivo, el enfoque es cuantitativo de tipo aplicada y con un diseño no experimental de corte transversal, la población que se utilizará en este proyecto de estudio es de 105 profesionales de enfermería que laboran en la unidad de PADOMI - ESSALUD de Lima. La técnica que se utilizará es la encuesta la cual consta de dos cuestionarios el primero medirá el nivel de conocimiento y el segundo la actitud del personal de enfermería estos instrumentos fueron validados a través de juicio de expertos obteniendo como resultado una concordancia de 0.98 el otro obtuvo una concordancia de 0.87 aceptando la validez; sin embargo, para la confiabilidad del cuestionario se utilizó el KR-20 de 0.90 y para el segundo fue Alfa de Cronbach de 0.98, confirmando la confiabilidad de ambos instrumento. Por último, para el análisis inferencial de correlación se utilizará la prueba de correlación de Spearman.

The effectiveness of exercise for the treatment of depression in older adult patients

Systematic Observational and Retrospective Review of International Research Articles Obtained through Database Searches in the Following: PubMed, Epistemonikos, ScienceDirect, Scielo, Wiley Online Library, and Elsevier. The articles were selected for having undergone critical reading, using the GRADE evaluation to identify their level of evidence. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 40% (n= 4/10) are meta-analyses, 40% (n= 4/10) are systematic reviews, and 10% (n= 1/10) are randomized controlled trials and cohort studies, respectively. According to the results from the systematic review conducted in this study, the articles' country of origin is as follows: England (30%), USA (20%), Colombia (10%), Taiwan (10%), Brazil (10%), Japan (10%), and Spain (10%). Results: Additionally, of the evidence found, 100% (n=10/10) (22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31) indicate that exercise is effective in treating depression in older adult patients. Conclusion: 10 out of 10 (10/10) articles studied conclude that exercise is effective for treating depression in older adult patients.

Knowledge and preventive practices of pressure injuries applied by caregivers of the elderly treated at the FAP central hospital, 2020

The purpose of this academic work has a quantitative approach, through scope and correlational descriptive analysis according to the period and sequence of the research, it is cross-sectional and according to the time of the events, it is prospective. The sample will consist of all relatives of older adults hospitalized on the 6th floor south-Geriatrics Unit of the FAP Central Hospital in 2020, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria set out in this research. The sample size will consist of 80 study subjects and the type of sampling will be non-probabilistic and non-random due to cohabitation. To measure the knowledge of family members about prevention of pressure injuries, the Lucero Y questionnaire instrument will be used.

Lifestyle and degree of dependency in the elderly at the Geronto Geriatric Residential Care Center Ignacia Rodulfo Viuda de Canevaro, Rímac - 2018

The objective of the research study was to determine the relationship between lifestyle and the degree of dependency of the elderly at the Ignacia Rodolfo Viuda de Canevaro Geronto Geriatric Center, Rímac – 2018. Regarding the Material and methods, it was a type of study quantitative, correlational, transversal. The sample was made up of 73 older adults. The instruments used were the Barthel index, which has a Crombach reliability of 0.862, which evaluates the degree of dependence, and the Lifestyle Scale in older adults with a Crombach Alpha reliability of 0.774. The data were processed through the SPSS Version 22 statistical program. The results indicated that 43.8% (32) of older adults are male and 56.2% (41) are female. In relation to the lifestyle variable of older adults, 67.1% have an unhealthy lifestyle and 32.9% have a healthy lifestyle. Regarding the degree of dependence, dependent older adults are 50.7% (37) represented in the following categories: moderately dependent in 41.1% (30), followed by mildly dependent in 5.5% (4) and severely dependent in 4.1% (3). On the other hand, the independents are 49.3% (36) with a value of 0.007 and a value of p = 0.935. The conclusions were that there is no correlation between lifestyle and the degree of dependency in older adults, therefore, the alternative hypothesis is rejected and the null hypothesis is accepted.

Nivel de autocuidado y calidad de vida del adulto mayor en el centro geriátrico de un hospital de Lima, 2024

Introducción: En la etapa de la adultez mayor, el autocuidado se convierte en un factor esencial para preservar la calidad de vida y afrontar los desafíos propios del envejecimiento. Este grupo etario enfrenta múltiples cambios físicos, emocionales y sociales que pueden influir en su bienestar general. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de autocuidado y la calidad de vida del adulto mayor en el centro geriátrico de un Hospital de Lima, 2024. Metodología: Investigación de tipo aplicada, transversal, cuantitativa y correlacional. La población objetivo de estudio estará compuesta por 108 personas mayores que recibirán atención en consultorios en un Hospital de Lima. Para la obtención de datos, se recurrirá a la técnica de la encuesta, empleando cuestionarios adaptados y validados: el de Cárdenas diseñado para evaluar el grado de autocuidado, el cual fue validado por un panel de 3 especialistas y presento un coeficiente de confiabilidad de 0.834; y el de Cruz y Soto para evaluar la calidad de vida, la cual también se validó mediante 3 expertos, y presentó 0.78 de fiabilidad de. Los datos serán procesados mediante el software SPSS-26, y las hipótesis se contrastarán mediante el test de Spearman o Pearson, en coherencia con la normalidad de datos recolectados.

Quality of life and dyspnea in older adults in geriatrics at Naval Medical Center. Callao. 2023

The world is undergoing a significant demographic shift, with the percentage of the population over 60 expected to nearly double by 2050. This situation is alarming, especially considering the WHO’s assertion that older adults' health does not maintain the same balance as longevity increases; significant inequalities and disparities in health are marked in the elderly, affecting their quality of life. This population group is susceptible to dyspnea, with 30% of people over 65 years old showing symptoms. Consequently, elderly individuals who experience dyspnea will limit their daily activities, reducing their functional status and mobility, impacting their quality of life in the medium and long term. This research aims to understand the quality of life in older adults using the EuroQol-5D scale and dyspnea through the mMRC scale. Therefore, the present study aims to determine the relationship between quality of life and dyspnea in older adults in the geriatrics department of the Naval Medical Center.

User satisfaction with nursing care in the orthopedic geriatrics service at the Alberto Sabogal Sologuren Hospital, Callao, 2018

Objective: To determine the user's satisfaction with the nursing care of the Orthogeriatrics service of the Alberto Sabogal Sologuren National Hospital in 2018. Material and Method: Non-experimental, descriptive, transversal and quantitative study, whose sample was made up of 80 older adults hospitalized in the Orthogeriatric Service. The instrument used was the “CARE Q Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire”, the information was analyzed in the SPSS version 25 program. Results: Regarding user satisfaction regarding nursing care, it was found that 92.5% reported being satisfied; According to its dimensions, the majority said they were satisfied: accessible 91.3%, explains and facilitates 80%, comforts 91.3%, anticipates 92.5%, maintains a relationship of trust 93.8%, monitors and follows up 96.3%. Conclusions: The majority of users of the Orthogeriatrics service at the Alberto Sabogal Sologuren National Hospital during February to May 2018 were satisfied with the care of the Nursing professional; However, the dimension that presented the greatest dissatisfaction was “Explain and facilitate.”
