Ítem Acceso abierto Urinary tract infection and its relationship with incomplete abortion in the health facility i – 4, john paul ii - villa el salvador, January - June 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-17) Sahuma Gutierrez, Julissa Yvonne; García Puicón, Lady YaninaObjective: To determine the relationship between urinary tract infection and incomplete abortion in patients treated in the gyneco-obstetric emergency department at the Juan Pablo II health center, Category I–4, in Villa El Salvador district, from January to June 2019. Materials and Methods: This is a quantitative, non-experimental, observational, analytical, retrospective, case-control, and cross-sectional study. A sample of 254 pregnant women aged 18 to 35 years with a diagnosis of incomplete abortion was obtained. A data collection form was used to analyze and present the information through absolute and relative frequencies. Results: Women diagnosed with incomplete abortion and urinary infection accounted for 53.9%, while those without a history of urinary infection accounted for 46.1%. A relationship was found between urinary infection, cohabitant marital status, parity, and gestational age in pregnant women attended in the gyneco-obstetric emergency department. Conclusion: There is a relationship between sexually active women, parity (two children), and gestational age (4–12 weeks) with a higher risk of urinary tract infection.
