Adverse events derived from nursing care: pressure injury, falls, phlebitis and blood transfusion at the Dos de Mayo National Hospital, period January – December 2018

Objective: Determine the frequency of adverse events derived from nursing care: pressure injury, falls, phlebitis and blood transfusion at the Dos de Mayo National Hospital period January - December 2018. Material and method: Descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective study. in 127 patients registered in the database of the Dos de Mayo National Hospital in the period January - December 2018. The MINSA technical standard that evaluates adverse events was used, which records the severity of the injury according to degrees. registered in the hospital secondary database. The severity of adverse events (no harm, irreversible damage, disability, and death), adverse events (pressure injuries, falls, phlebitis, and blood transfusion), and demographic data such as age and sex were considered. Results: Of the total, a high proportion of pressure injuries was determined with 73 reports (57.5%), followed by phlebitis with 26 reports (20.5%), and falls with 25 reports (19.7%). 55.9% were women, 78.7% (100 cases) had follow-up by the staff, and 71.7% (91 cases) presented no damage, of which 56 (44%) corresponded to pressure injuries and 11.8% (15) corresponded to falls. Conclusions: Pressure injuries were determined, followed by phlebitis and falls as the most frequent adverse events derived from nursing care at the Dos de Mayo National Hospital during the period January - December 2018.

Knowledge about the management of polytraumatized patients and the practice of nursing staff in the emergency of the Chilca Health Center – Mala 2022

Introduction: Approximately 1.3 million lives are lost each year as a result of these injuries. Between 20 and 50 million people suffer non-fatal trauma, many of which result in disability. Various factors, such as globalization, high competition, and unfavorable conditions at work, have generated cases of polytrauma whose level of severity can lead to multiple organ failure. Objective: Determine the relationship that exists between the level of knowledge and the practice of managing polytraumatized patients that the emergency nurses of the Chilca Mala health center carry out in 2022. Method: To carry out this study, it will be developed based on the hypothetical deductive method with quantitative approach, without intervention which corresponds to a non-experimental study work with correlational design. The population is made up of 20 Nursing professionals from the emergency service, the instrument being a questionnaire of questions, where the level of knowledge with its dimensions will be evaluated. Statistical: a SPSS version 25 program will be used, and Cronbach's Alpha will be used to measure reliability.

Resistance to the use of personal protective equipment in workers at the “Torres” carpentry shop, Carabayllo- 2021

Individual safety clothing is a tool that protects different parts of the body, directly exposing workers to risk factors that can cause injuries and illnesses. Workplace accidents help reduce the severity of injuries, but there are different types and forms, each with its own purpose and use. Personal protective factors prevent the employee from being directly exposed to the risk agents exposed in the course of their work activities, even if it is proven that the worker does not use them. “Resistance to the use of personal protective equipment among workers at the “Torres” carpentry shop is one of the most common obstacles that we discovered in charge of advising and verifying the use of equipment. Rejection is caused by a variety of factors, such as annoyance, resistance to change, embarrassment or employee behavior, I don't know, I don't know or I can't. The verification of the practical, effective and reliable tool that can measure not only the worker's tolerance for protective equipment, but also the classification scale was carried out. All of these are very useful and important benefits to attack and reduce resistance, points for the greatest interests and occupational culture of local companies. It can strengthen safety and health to attack and reduce the level of opposition and thus strengthen the OSH culture.
