Ítem Acceso abierto Comparison of the divergence of the free-hand carved guide planes and the acrylic resin cap technique in removable partial prosthesis, Lima 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-04) Rivera Neyra, Carlos Fernando; Guevara Sotomayor, Juan CésarThe objective of this research was to determine the divergence of hand-carved guide planes and the acrylic resin cap technique in removable partial dentures. Methodology: Bioesthetic preparation was performed on 31 patients for the fabrication of removable partial dentures, using the acrylic cap technique and the conventional technique to obtain guide planes. Afterward, plaster models were obtained, photographed, and processed in Adobe Photoshop to observe the divergence of the guide planes. All data were recorded in a data collection sheet. These data were tabulated and processed using statistical analysis. Results: The divergence of the hand-carved guide planes showed a mean of 2.055 and a standard deviation of 0.5926, while the acrylic cap technique showed a mean of 0.902 and a standard deviation of 0.3612. There was statistical significance (p<0.05) between the two procedures. Conclusion: There are differences in the divergence of hand-carved guide planes and the acrylic resin cap technique in removable partial dentures.
