Ítem Acceso abierto Effective interventions for fall prevention in older adults(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-26) Ramirez Retamozo, Delia Danny; Grados Arana, Rosario de Maria; Pérez Siguas, Rosa EvaObjective: Systematize the evidence on effective preventive interventions against falls in older adults. Methodology: Systematic, observational and retrospective review. The review was limited to articles with full text only, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading. In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen. Results After the exhaustive analysis, it was determined that, of the total number of articles analyzed, 80% affirm that physical exercise is one of the most effective prevention interventions to reduce the number of falls in this population that has a high risk and 20% of studies adds other aspects of multifactorial care. Conclusions: It was possible to determine the effectiveness of preventive interventions against falls in older adults, although due to the absence of methodological unification for the evaluation of the effectiveness of the interventions, regulations cannot be structured for their large-scale application.
