Methodology: The study was observational and descriptive in nature. The sample consisted of 51 insured patients between the ages of 18 and 29 at the FOPASEF healthcare complex located in the district of Lima. The evaluation of temporomandibular disorder was conducted using the Helkimo Index. Only 39.2% of the patients had normal function. This leads to the conclusion that the prevalence of temporomandibular disorder according to the Helkimo Index is 60.8%, which includes clinical problems involving the masticatory musculature, temporomandibular joints, and associated structures.
