Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of nursing interventions in the prevention of pressure injuries in patients with dermatitis associated with incontinence(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-04) Araujo Nina, Rosa Luz; Núñez Luna, Patricia María; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjective: To systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of nursing interventions in the prevention of pressure injuries in patients with incontinence-associated dermatitis. Materials and Methods: This study was quantitative, with an observational and retrospective systematic review design, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary research studies. The population consisted of a review of 30 articles, with a sample of 10 full-text articles selected for critical reading. The selected articles were subjected to a critical review using the GRADE system, which emerged as an international initiative aimed at optimizing the evaluation of evidence quality and the grading of recommendation strength. Instruments: Databases used included Lilacs, Lipecs, PubMed, Medline, Ebsco, Scielo, Cochrane Plus, and Elsevier. Results: The systematic review identified 10 articles that report the effectiveness of nursing interventions in the prevention of pressure injuries in patients with incontinence-associated dermatitis. In terms of type and design, 80% were quantitative experimental studies and 20% were meta-analyses. Conclusions: The reviewed studies evidenced the effectiveness of nursing interventions, through health education and skin care, in the prevention of pressure injuries in patients with incontinence-associated dermatitis.
