Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional dependence and self-esteem in high school students of I.E.P. Guillermo Mercado Barroso, Arequipa – 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-19) Cordero Mejía, Giordano Daniel; Vega Mendoza, Kattia YolandaThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional dependence and self-esteem in high school students at a private institution in Arequipa. The method followed was the hypothetical-deductive method, a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The study consisted of 80 high school students from a private educational institution in Arequipa. The instruments used were the Emotional Dependence Scale (ACCA) by Anicama et al. (2013) and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (EAR) by Rosenberg (1965). The research results indicated that there is no significant relationship between the study variables, as the calculated p-value was greater than 0.05 (0.473); thus, it is concluded that there is no significant inverse relationship between emotional dependence and self-esteem in high school students at a private educational institution in Arequipa.
