CP is a non-progressive alteration and is considered the primary disabling condition. Hip dislocation is one of the main alterations causing instability in the development of the joint, and it is associated with spasticity, which is a major contributor to increased muscle tone and abnormal postures, leading to muscle shortening and muscle imbalance, particularly in the hip adductors and flexors.
