The population will consist of 130 patients attending the cardiology clinic of a specialized healthcare facility. A predominant feeling among them is fear of what awaits them: the uncertainty, the potential for pain and the risk of complications that could deteriorate their physical well-being, strip them of their independence or even cause death. In this study we seek to examine the correlation between anxiety and depression among older adults with diabetes mellitus and high blood pressure who attend the outpatient clinic of a Hospital in Metropolitan Lima, 2023. The research will use a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach. Sectional correlational methodology. The complete sample will be made up of 88 older adults. To evaluate our objectives, we will use the Beck Anxiety Scale (BAI) to measure the first variable and the Yesavage Geriatric Depression Scale to measure the second variable. It is concluded that female patients are more likely to attend the consultation, with the majority being over 60 years old, there is poor adherence to HTN treatment, the most influential factor is the socioeconomic factor and that related to the provider: system and health team.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of educational interventions on lifestyle changes in elderly patients with arterial hypertension(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-03-04) Sánchez Vicente, Roxana; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: To determine the effectiveness of educational interventions to promote lifestyle changes in patients with hypertension. Materials and Methods: The present study employed a qualitative research design through systematic reviews. The population consisted of 35 articles, and the sample included 10 articles. The instrument used was a database search in Lipecs, Lilacs, Scielo, Cochrane Plus, PubMed, and Medline, and the articles were analyzed using the GRADE system. Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, with the distribution by country as follows: 30% (3) from Spain, 20% (6) from Colombia, Mexico, and Cuba, and only 10% (1) from Peru. The studies were analyzed by study type, with 50% (5) being qualitative and 50% (5) quantitative. The study designs were also classified, with 50% (5) being randomized clinical trials and 50% (5) quasi-experimental designs. Conclusions: The reviewed studies showed that 80% of educational interventions were effective in promoting lifestyle changes in hypertensive patients, while 20% of the educational interventions were not effective in promoting lifestyle changes, according to the systematic reviews.Ítem Acceso abierto Family support and self-care capacity in patients with arterial hypertension in the cardiology outpatient clinic at a national institute, Lima 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-25) Tineo Medrano, Gleny; Camarena Chamaya, Luis MiguelIntroduction: High blood pressure, commonly known as high blood pressure, is a common health condition that affects millions of people around the world. It is a chronic disease that requires ongoing treatment, including medication, lifestyle changes, and self-care. Family support also plays a crucial role in improving patients' self-care ability. Objective: To determine how family support is related to the self-care capacity of patients with arterial hypertension in the cardiology outpatient clinic of a National Institute, Lima 2024. Methodology: Quantitative research and a hypothetical-deductive, cross-sectional, correlational method. applied and not experimental. Population: It will have a population that according to the records is 100. Because it is a small population, we will work with a census sample taking into account the inclusion and exclusion criteria. With validated instruments, two Likert-type measurement questionnaires will be used, with a reliability of 0.98 and 0.856. Methodology: This research study will use the quantitative, deductive method, the research design is Observational and correlational, with retrospective data collection. The purpose is to test the relationship between the dimensions and the variable. The population will be made up of 60 adult patients diagnosed with high blood pressure who attend the cardiology service and who have given their consent for the application of the instruments with the purpose of contributing to the development of said research. The hypothetical deductive method, quantitative approach, applied type, observational design, correlational scope and cross-sectional was used. Sé had a population of 340 new patients entering the elderly program of Hospital II Ramón Castilla, sample calculation was used obtaining a sample of 181 patients, who responded to two previously validated physical surveys: questionnaire 1 by Ataucasi and Nieto, questionnaire 2 by Ramírez Olivera Karina. The results were obtained: 45.9% of patients in the elderly program have a low level of knowledge about risk factors in hypertension, 32% medium level and 22.1% high level. Regarding pharmacological adherence, 34.3% have a regular attitude towards risk factors for hypertension, 33.7% manifest a good attitude and 32.0% have a bad attitude. For the test of the hypothesis, Pearson's Chi-square statistic was used, obtaining a value of 48,837 and significant relationship (p = 0.000) and without having expected boxes of counts less than 5, which rejects the null hypothesis and accepts the alternative hypothesis, concluding that there is a relationship between Knowledge about Risk Factors and adherence to pharmacological treatment in hypertensive patients of the elderly program.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge of arterial hypertension and practice of self-care in the elderly program in a Lima hospital 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-04) Flores Ruiz, Elizabeth Gloria; Palomino Taquire, RewardsWorldwide, high blood pressure is a major public health problem. The objective of this academic work is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of arterial hypertension and adherence to treatment in hypertensive patients at a regional hospital in the San Martin region. A hypothetical deductive study will be carried out, with a quantitative approach, applied type of non-experimental design, including patients with medically diagnosed arterial hypertension and treated with medication in the medical service and clinics. Factors such as age, sex, education, knowledge about hypertension and treatment, perception of complications, and side effects of therapy will also be evaluated. The analysis of the data collected will make it possible to highlight those factors that affect adherence to treatment, in order to develop strategies to propose future improvements in this regard, this could have a significant impact at a preventive level, with respect to the complications associated with the pathology studied, as well as with cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular accidents. The results will be analyzed descriptively through tables and graphs and the Spearman's Rho statistic will be used for the inferential analysis.
