Ítem Acceso abierto Critical review: effect of zinc and supplementation on immune function and response(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-06-27) Rafael Cucche, Susan Sasha; Bohórquez Medina, Andrea LisbetThe immune system is an integral part of the inflammatory response with a protective function in order to counteract the invasion of pathogenic microorganisms. Likewise, all cells in the body have the potential to participate in the immune response process. On the other hand, zinc is an essential element for most of the processes that occur in organisms. It has recently been noted that, for humans, food is the main source of zinc. So much so that zinc deficiency can be demonstrated in a significant proportion of the population. For this, the principles of evidence-based nutrition were used as a methodology. For this reason, a systematic search was carried out in 5 databases, Scopus, WOS, Pubmed, Embase and Science Direct, from the last 5 years, which allow us to answer the research question. After the selection of articles, they were evaluated through a critical reading tool to determine the degree of recommendation and level of evidence. Finally, the article with the highest degree of evidence is developed in the critical commentary, in order to extract recommendations for the professional practice of nutritionists and other health professionals.Ítem Acceso abierto Immune response to the hepatitis B vaccine in patients treated with hemodialysis and dialysis(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-04-07) Suarez Calle, Erika Jaqueline; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleObjective: To systematically analyze the available evidence from studies carried out on the immune response to the hepatitis B vaccine when applied to patients treated with hemodialysis. Materials and Methods: Systematic review of 10 articles of high and moderate quality of evidence according to the GRADE evaluation; found in the following databases: PubMed, Elsevier, Springer Link, JAMA network, ASCO. Results: The analysis of 10 scientific articles with full text was carried out, 05 were retrospective and prospective cohort investigations, 01 meta-analysis and 4 clinical trials. 100% of the articles concluded that the immune response is affected when the hepatitis B vaccine is applied to patients treated with hemodialysis. Conclusion: From the systematic study of the 10 scientific articles, it is evident that 8 of the 10 articles (80%) patients treated with hemodialysis and dialysis achieved an immune response greater than 50% to those who received three and four doses of 40mcg of hepatitis B vaccine; and in 2 of the 10 articles (20%), patients treated with hemodialysis and dialysis achieved an immune response of less than 50%, with the percentage being higher when the four-dose scheme was applied. Resulting in 100% effectiveness in the 10 scientific articles.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge of mothers about immunizations and compliance with the vaccine schedule in children under 1 year of age, at the “Santiago Apóstol” health center - 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-12-30) Aguilar Carrillo, Lilian Raquel; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeRegarding the development of this study, the purpose was established to find the existing link between mothers' knowledge about immunity and the execution of the vaccination schedule in infants under one year of age at the Santiago Apóstol Health Center - 2022. The methodology applied was applied with a hypothetical deductive method and a quantitative approach in a sample of 56 mothers with children under one year of age who are cared for at the Santiago Apóstol Health Center to whom a questionnaire was administered. to evaluate knowledge about vaccination and an observation sheet to determine the execution of the vaccination schedule. The results showed the existence of a significance of less than 0.05, in addition to a Spearman's Rho coefficient of .913; which allowed us to conclude with the existence of a direct and positive link between mothers' knowledge about immunizations and compliance with the vaccination schedule in children under 1 year of age at the Santiago Apóstol Health Center - 2022.
