Eating habits and physical activity in the collaborators of a private textile factory in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic, Lima 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-20) Olivera Ñaupas, Nieves Glicet; Pasache Moreno, Julissa María
The objective of this research was to establish the relationship between dietary habits and physical activity among workers in a private textile factory during the COVID-19 pandemic in Lima, 2023. The hypothetical-deductive method was used, with a basic research type, quantitative approach, and non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 110 workers from the private textile factory. Two questionnaires were used, which were validated and reliable in a timely manner. The results showed that 84.55% had inadequate dietary habits. Of these, 21.82% had low physical activity, 62.73% moderate, and none high. On the other hand, 15.45% of workers had adequate dietary habits, 11.82% had high physical activity, 3.64% moderate, and none low. These results suggest that there is an association between dietary habits and physical activity levels among textile factory workers. Most workers with inadequate dietary habits also had a moderate or low level of physical activity, while those with adequate dietary habits tended to have a high level of physical activity, which indicates that workers with poor diet and low physical activity levels. The significance of p < 0.001 was found, as well as a coefficient of 0.744, leading to the conclusion that there is a significant relationship between dietary habits and physical activity among textile factory workers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lima 2023.
