Ítem Acceso abierto Factors that favor acute myocardial infarction in adults treated in the emergency department(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Berrios Vega, Noemi Rocio; Jara Suarez, Milagros Leticia; Gómez Gonzales, Walter EdgarObjective: To determine the factors that favor acute myocardial infarction in adults treated in emergency departments. Materials and Methods: A systematic review was conducted, synthesizing the results of multiple primary studies. The studies were identified through databases such as Scielo, Lilacs, Lipecs, and Cochrane. Results: The evidence confirms that factors favoring acute myocardial infarction in adults are varied but primarily linked to adult behaviors, attitudes, and practices. The 10 selected articles emphasize these factors. Conclusions: The most frequent factors contributing to acute myocardial infarction in adults are obesity, hypercholesterolemia, age, overweight (waist-to-hip ratio), and low HDL concentrations. Hypercholesterolemia is the leading factor.
