Objective: Determine compliance with biosafety rules: hand washing in nurses at the Chancay hospital, September - December, 2020. Methodology: A descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional study will be carried out. The study population will be made up of the total number of nurses at the Chancay Hospital, from which a sample of 81 nurses who work in the healthcare area will be obtained, to whom the checklist on compliance with the requirements will be applied as an instrument. biosafety rules: hand washing. The data obtained will be tabulated and statistically processed, applying the statistical package SPSS Vs. 26.0, and Excel 2016.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of chlorine use in disinfecting surfaces of hospital equipment and furniture in reducing contamination and preventing hospital-acquired infections(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-04) Castro Quispe, Jannet Marcelina; Maita Barzola, Yerson Jesús; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerSystematize evidence on the effectiveness of the use of chlorine in the disinfection of surfaces of hospital equipment and furniture in reducing contamination and preventing in-hospital infections. Materials and Methods: The present study was quantitative and designed a systematic review, the population consisted of 20 articles and a sample of 10 articles, the instrument was a database search, PubMed, Medline, Lilacs, Scielo, Cochrane Plus; For analysis of articles, the GRADE Method was used, which evaluated the quality of consistency and strength of recommendation. Results: of the 10 scientific articles reviewed, 9 confirmed the effectiveness of chlorine in its antimicrobial action and use in cleaning surfaces; example: effectiveness of sodium hypochlorite against the Ebola virus used in a concentration of 1.0% resulted in a complete reduction in the viral titer after a contact time of 5 minutes while the concentrations of 0.1% and 0.01% It was not effective in reducing viral titer during 10 min contact time. Likewise, in another result we can see that disinfection with chlorine is effective in aminoglycoside resistant or susceptible strains.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of control measures to prevent tuberculosis in healthcare personnel(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-04-07) Lizárraga Gamarra, Ninfa Luz; Pérez Siguas, Rosa EvaObjective: Systematize evidence of high scientific value about the effectiveness of control measures to prevent tuberculosis in health personnel. Materials and Methods: The aforementioned research work has a type of qualitative study, designed through retrospective review, cohort studies and systematic reviews. The instruments that support this research work are the databases of EBSCO, Cochrane Library, British Medical Journal, Pub Med, American Journal of Infection control. Results: A search was carried out for 10 scientific articles that were considered as the population, of which 3 (30%) came from retrospective reviews, 4 (40%) from cohort studies, and 3 (30%) were systematic reviews. 70% of articles demonstrate the effectiveness of control measures to prevent tuberculosis in health personnel, with the implementation and evaluation of the three administrative, environmental and respiratory protection control measures; The remaining 30% affirm that the lack or deficiency of the three control measures produces a risk of contracting tuberculosis in health personnel. Conclusions: Based on all the articles presented, 7/10 articles, it is concluded that the triad of administrative, environmental control and respiratory protection were jointly implemented, preventing the spread of tuberculosis in health personnel. 3/10 articles state that these separate control measures are not effective because they do not protect the worker from tuberculosis.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of high-level disinfection in flexible endoscopes for the prevention of infections(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-29) Quintana Garcia, Susan Estefanie; Zurita Mendoza, Richard Alfredo; Mori Castro, Jaime AlbertoObjective: Determine the effectiveness of high-level disinfection in flexible endoscopes for the prevention of infections. Methodology: The work is a systematic review consisting of 10 published and indexed scientific articles, data collection was carried out through Pubmed, Sciencedirect, Redalyc, Cochrane, Researchgate, the analysis was developed using a summary table which evaluates the quality of the evidence and strength of recommendation of each scientific article chosen according to the established technical criteria and guaranteeing compliance with ethical principles. Conclusion: The systematic review shows that high-level disinfection is not enough to avoid infections caused by the use of reprocessed flexible endoscopes, and it is also concluded that cleaning is the most important step in this process and the most difficult in correct compliance.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of high-level disinfection of medical devices to prevent infections in patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-01-06) Neyra Gil, Lourdes Soraya; Cárdenas Cossio, Gisela Coralí; Glenni Garay, Zarely ZabeliObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of high-level disinfection in medical devices to prevent infections in patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures. Material and Methods: Systematic review that summarizes the results of various investigations, identifying what is most relevant to answer specific questions. The search has been limited to articles with full text that have been critically read, using the GRADE evaluation to assign their level of evidence. Results: In the final selection, 05 articles were chosen, finding that 40% (04) correspond to Brazil, Peru and Mexico and 10% (01) Asia (India). These are mostly experimental studies (10%), descriptive case series type (20%), systematic reviews (10%), controlled clinical trials (10%). 100% of the articles state that high-level disinfection (HLD) does not ensure the elimination of the most resistant microorganisms such as endospores and some mycobacterium, such as microorganisms of the Coccidia subclass such as M. Masiliense, so this process is not considered effective in preventing infections in minimally invasive procedures. Conclusions: High-level disinfection is not effective in medical devices to prevent infections in patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of proper management of external ventricular drainage to prevent the risk of central nervous system infection in newborns with hydrocephalus(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-09-02) Alvarez Rossi, Patricia Guadalupe; Quintano Tutos, Miriam Lourdes; Bonilla Asalde, César AntonioIt was a systematic observational and retrospective review, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, subjected to critical reading, using the Grade evaluation to identify their level of evidence; of the 10 scientific articles reviewed, they were 40% (4/10) Systematic reviews: United States 20%, Australia 10%, Spain 10%; then 10% (1/10) Study Cohort: United States 10%; 10% (1/10) Quasi-experimental: Brazil 10%; and 40% (4/0) studied cases and controls: Netherlands 20%, United States 10%; India 10%. The systematic review allows us to show that the management of external ventricular drainage is effective in preventing the risk of infection of the central nervous system in newborns with hydrocephalus; For this reason, it is important to update knowledge about the management of these drainages and, on the other hand, achieve greater excellence in our professional performance.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of fixation with adhesive devices compared to suture fixation in patients with central venous catheters in reducing infections(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-16) Mori Payano, Luis Carlos; Carrillo Cotillo, Hanmer Enoc; Matta Solis, Hernan HugoObjective: Systematize the evidence from studies regarding the effectiveness of fixation with adhesive devices compared to suture fixation in patients with a central venous catheter to reduce infections.
