    Los pacientes críticos que egresan de las UCI debido a su condición, permanecen en un alto nivel de inmovilidad durante mucho tiempo, lo que conduce al deterioro físico y conduce a la degeneración de la capacidad funcional, y problemas en los músculos respiratorios sin olvidar la enfermedad de base, llevando consigo problemas en diferentes niveles del sistema; causando limitaciones para la realización de las actividades de la vida diaria o necesidad de asistencia por parte de otra persona; esta falta de independencia percibida por el paciente, causará un impacto en la calidad de vida del mismo.

    Efficacy of perioperative high oxygen inspiration therapy in reducing surgical site infection in operating room patients

    Objective: Systematize the evidence of the effectiveness of perioperative high oxygen inspiration therapy to reduce surgical site infection in patients in the operating room. Material and Methods: the study was a systematic review of 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases and that respond to articles published in Spanish, Italian, Swiss Danish and English. Results: 60% of the evidence (n=6/10) indicates that supplementary perioperative oxygenation is beneficial to prevent surgical site infection. On the other hand, 40% of the evidence (n=4/10) says that perioperative high oxygen inspiration therapy was generally not beneficial in preventing surgical site infection. Conclusion: In 6 of the 10 articles, the effectiveness of perioperative high inspiration oxygen therapy to reduce surgical site infection in patients in the operating room is evidenced, while in 4 of the 10 articles there is no solid evidence of a Beneficial effect of high inspiration oxygen therapy.
