Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between the posterior discrepancy and the intermolar angle in adolescent patients with skeletal malocclusion I, II and III, treated at the FAP Oral Health Institute, Lima, 2019 -2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-06) Gutiérrez Quispe, Flor Lis; Mezzich Gálvez, Jorge LuisThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between posterior discrepancy and intermolar angle in adolescent patients with skeletal malocclusion I, II, and III, treated at the Instituto de Salud Oral (ISOFAP, Lima, 2019-2022). The study method was hypothetical deductive, with a quantitative approach and a basic, retrospective, cross-sectional, and observational type. The design was non-experimental, descriptive, and correlational. The population consisted of lateral radiographs (taken between 2019 and 2022) from patients treated at ISOFAP, and the sample was non-randomly selected for convenience, with 160 lateral radiographs. The sample met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The technique used was observation, and a data collection sheet validated by expert judgment and the reliability test using Cohen's Kappa Index was employed. Results showed a weak negative correlation between posterior discrepancy and the intermolar angle in adolescent patients with skeletal malocclusion I, II, and III, with a Spearman rho coefficient of -0.141. Furthermore, this relationship was not statistically significant, as the p-value was 0.078 (p > 0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between posterior discrepancy and intermolar angle
