Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of intervention programs to improve treatment adherence and self-care in chronic disease patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-19) Sánchez Garrido, Flor de María; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MaríaObjective: To observe and analyze 10 scientific articles found on the effectiveness of intervention programs to improve treatment adherence and self-care in patients with chronic diseases. These articles were sourced from the Pubmed, Epistemonikos, Lilacs, and Scielo databases and were classified according to the GRADE scale, which evaluates the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations. Results: Of the 10 articles examined, 70% (n=7/10) are systematic reviews, and 30% (n=3/10) are systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Of the 10 articles found, 60% (6/10) establish the effectiveness of intervention programs to improve treatment adherence and self-care in patients with chronic diseases, while 40% (4/10) indicate that these programs are partially effective, provide few benefits, or require further studies to complement information on intervention programs to improve treatment adherence and self-care in patients with chronic diseases. Conclusion: 6 out of 10 articles establish the effectiveness of intervention programs to improve treatment adherence and self-care in patients with chronic diseases, while 4 out of 10 articles mention partial effectiveness, limited benefits, or the need for further studies to determine the level of effectiveness.
