Ítem Acceso abierto Effective nursing care practices for nasogastric tube management, to prevent post-insertion complications in the emergency department(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Enriquez Quispe, Yris; Vallejos Reátegui, Shirley Marilyn; Gómez Gonzales, Walter EdgarObjective: To establish effective nursing practices for nasogastric tube care to prevent post-insertion complications in the emergency department. Materials and Methods: A systematic review was conducted on 10 articles from various databases. Results: Nurses are well-versed in the care procedures to prevent complications in patients with nasogastric tubes, including proper management for enteral nutrition, gastric decompression, and the treatment of toxic substances. Conclusion: Effective use of nasogastric tubes is critical for preventing complications in emergency patients, and these practices align with clinical guidelines.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of lidocaine in reducing pain during nasogastric tube insertion(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-02) Alarcon Falero, Nestor Miguel; Malca Ramírez, Robinson; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleThe systematic reviews of the 10 scientific articles on the effectiveness of lidocaine to reduce the pain in the insertion of the nasogastric tube, 90% refer that lidocaine is effective in reducing the pain in the insertion of the nasogastric tube, only 10% report that it does not reduce the pain, concluding the administration of lidocaine, either in its different presentations as a gel, atomized or nebulized, reduces the pain always and when it is administered 5 minutes before each nasogastric tube insertion, being the most nebulized is effective as it reduces pain by up to 57.7%.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of nasogastric tubes in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-10-20) Manrique Quispe, Marlene Elizabeth; Blanco Tolentino, Magaly Karina; Rivera Lozada De Bonilla, OrianaObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the use of the nasogastric tube in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding. Material and Method: the design used was a systematic review. The population was made up of 20 articles from indexed journals, which, through inclusion and exclusion criteria, determined a sample of 10 scientific articles. The GRADE system was used to evaluate the quality and strength of recommendation of the evidence. Results: From the review carried out, 40% (4/10) come from the United States, 20% (2/10) come from France, 10% (1/10) from Turkey, 10% (1/10) Spain , 10% (1/10) Japan and 10% (1/10) Israel. According to the study design, 30% (3/10) were systematic reviews, 20% (2/10) randomized clinical trials, 40% (4/10) observational cohort and 10% (1/10) quasi-experimental. According to the quality of evidence, 50% (5/10) were high and the other 50% (5/10) were moderate. Conclusions: There is significant evidence of the effectiveness of the use of the nasogastric tube in patients with digestive bleeding.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of prophylactic nasogastric tube use in post-operative abdominal decompression in patients undergoing digestive surgery(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-17) Quiñones Romaní, Carmen; Falla Fernández, Lorena Imelda; Uturunco Vera, Milagros LizbethObjective: To analyze the evidence of the use of a prophylactic nasogastric tube in postoperative abdominal decompression in a patient undergoing digestive surgery. Material and Methodology: Systematic Reviews are an observational and retrospective research design, a selection of 10 scientific articles was made that were found in the following databases Scielo, Cochrane Plus, PubMed, IntraMed, Ebsco, ProQuest; All of these articles were analyzed using the Grade scale to determine their strength and quality of evidence. Results: The application of the use of a nasogastric tube routinely as a prophylactic measure in the prevention of postoperative complications is not effective in 60%. Likewise, 40% show that the use of a prophylactic nasogastric tube does not offer any clinically relevant benefit to patients after abdominal surgery, therefore its use must be selective. Conclusions: The use of prophylactic nasogastric tube in the prevention of postoperative complications in patients undergoing abdominal surgeries is not effective and its use should be applied selectively in specific cases as a therapeutic measure, such as, for example: in those who present abdominal distension. and excessive vomiting.Ítem Acceso abierto Precision of methods for verifying the position of nasogastric tubes in intubated patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-17) Hurtado Robles, Franco Daniel; Zapata Navarro, Diana Del Pilar; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleThe research work deals with the precision of the methods for verifying the position of the Nasogastric Tube in Intubated patients, determining that capnometry is effective for confirming the placement of the NGT and being compatible with the radiological method, guaranteeing correct position of the gastric tube. Allowing the nursing professional to use an effective method.
