Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between the anteroposterior position of the upper central incisor with respect to the glabella point in patients of the second specialty in orthopaedics at the Private University Norbert Wiener, Lima 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-12-13) Garayar Hernández, César Augusto; Alarcón Palacios, Omar MartinThis study evaluated the relationship between the Nasion-Orbit distance and the Anterior Facial Height in Peruvian individuals treated at the Norbert Wiener University Dental Center between 2015 and 2017. It is an observational, cross-sectional study with a descriptive research level. Measurements were taken from 50 lateral radiographs, which were taken from the patient's right side and collected from the Dental Center. The Nasion-Orbit distance and anterior facial height were measured. To determine the soft tissue Nasion point, it was shifted from the hard tissue Nasion using the true vertical and the Nasion-Orbit distance. A perpendicular line was drawn from the Nasion to the horizontal Frankfort plane. The anterior facial height was measured from the Nasion point to the mentonian point. The statistical test used was the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test with a significance level for the Nasion-Orbit distance P=0.025 and for anterior facial height P=0.006. Correlations were verified using the Spearman’s Rho test. The study results found that the mean distance between Nasion and Orbit is 29.34mm with a standard deviation of 3.53mm, and the mean distance for anterior facial height is 131.04mm with a standard deviation of 8.21mm. The study concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between these two measurements (Nasion-Orbit distance and anterior facial height) and a moderate, directly proportional relationship: as the distance increases, the height also increases.
