(“marjoram”) in mice. The species was collected in the department of Ayacucho, macerated for seven days, and concentrated using an extraction hood and a Memmert oven at 40 °C until a dry sample was obtained. To analyze intestinal motility, the method described by Vogel et al. was employed, applying the direct observation technique. A total of 48 albino mice of the Balb/C53/CNPB strain, both male and female, were used, with a dose of 300 mg/kg. The extract demonstrated greater laxative activity. In conclusion, the ethanolic extract of Origanum majorana L. In response, the World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that more than 80% of the population uses traditional medicine. The sample was collected in the town of Esperanza Alta (La Virgen) in the Huaral district and taxonomically classified at the Natural History Museum of the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM). The purpose of this research was to evaluate the laxative activity of the hydroalcoholic extract from the fruit of Hylocereus undatus (Haw) Britton & Rose, 'red pitahaya,' in albino mice (Mus musculus) using the intestinal transit method. The research was experimental, explanatory, analytical, and prospective. A total of 50 albino mice were used, randomly distributed into seven groups of six animals each. The extracts were administered orally at concentrations of 100, 200, 300, 400, and 600 mg/kg. The positive control group received Bisacodyl (0.25 mg/kg), and the negative control received distilled water. Thirty minutes later, all groups were administered 5% activated charcoal at a dose of 0.1 mL/10 g of body weight. After another 30 minutes, the animals were sacrificed with ether, and a laparotomy-type dissection was performed to measure the distance the charcoal traveled through the small intestine. In conclusion, the laxative activity of the hydroalcoholic extract was confirmed, with an intestinal transit of 74.13% observed at a 400 mg/kg dose. The following phytoconstituents were identified: reducing sugars, saponins, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, alkaloids, fatty compounds, and quinones.Publicación Acceso abierto Efecto laxante del extracto etanólico del tegumento de Malus domestica Borkh. “manzana delicia” en ratones(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-05-23) Yallico Claudio, Catherine Matilde; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraObjetivo: Comprobar el efecto laxante del extracto etanólico del tegumento de Malus domestica Borkh. “manzana delicia” en ratones. Metodología: Se realizó el análisis cualitativo preliminar (Bortranger y taninos) según Olga Lock; para el estudio farmacológico del efecto laxante del extracto etanólico del tegumento de “manzana delicia” se usó la técnica de Arbos, se emplearon ratones de la cepa Balbin/C53/CNPB de ambos sexos, los especímenes se distribuyeron al azar en grupo de 6 como estándar se usó bisacodilo 5 mg/kg y tres dosis del extracto G1, G2, G3: 100, 300 y 500 mg/kg el extracto de manzana delicia por vía oral. Resultados: El extracto etanólico del tegumento “manzana delicia” contiene los siguientes metabolitos secundarios Bortranger y taninos, se evidenciando el efecto laxante a una dosis de 100 mg/kg (17%) frente al bisacodilo 5mg/kg (11,3%), Conclusión: Se comprobó el efecto laxante del extracto etanólico del tegumento de Malus domestica Borkh “manzana delicia” a una dosis de 100 mg/kg por vía oral en ratones.
