Functional Perception and Instrumental Activities of Daily Life in Older Adults With Gonarthross of a National Polyclinic, Cusco, 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-20) Chacca Cusi, Avelina Concepción; Puma Chombo, Jorge Eloy
A study on the functional perception of a person with osteoarthritis mentions that this wear and tear will gradually reduce walking function and, consequently, the quality of life of an older adult, who may be perceived as disabled by society, eventually leading to dysfunction or bedridden status, which generates public expenditure. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between functional perception and instrumental activities of daily living in older adults with osteoarthritis. An applied, correlational, and cross-sectional methodology will be used, and the instruments will be the WOMAC questionnaire for functional perception and the Lawton and Brody scale for instrumental activities of daily living (IADL).

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-12-18) Vasquez Huallpa, Rosario; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa Maria
Objective: To determine the relationship between the management of free time and healthy leisure practices among adolescents attending a community mental health center in the district of Ayna San Francisco, La Mar province, Ayacucho, 2022. Materials and Methods: The research follows a hypothetical-deductive approach as it is based on analysis, with a quantitative focus because it involves collecting and examining information. It is applied in nature, grounded in theoretical foundations, and descriptive. The study population consists of 80 adolescents attending a community mental health center in the district of Ayna San Francisco, La Mar province, Ayacucho, in 2022. A survey technique was employed, with a Likert scale instrument that includes sections on presentation, instructions, sociodemographic characteristics, and a questionnaire titled "Management of Free Time and Healthy Leisure Practices." The instrument underwent content validation through expert judgment. The questionnaire on healthy leisure practices demonstrated high reliability, as evaluated by Cronbach's Alpha statistic, with a value of 0.72. A pilot test involving 10 adolescents with similar characteristics was conducted. Data entry was performed using Excel for Windows 2016, structured in a matrix as a database aligned with the measurement instrument.

Sedentary lifestyle, pain intensity and lumbar instability in clinical laboratory medical technologists and pathological anatomy of the city of Arequipa, 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-14) Ibarra Hurtado, Luis Alberto; Arrieta Córdova, Andy Freud
According to the WHO, one in four adults and four out of five adolescents do not engage in physical activity. Therefore, the current role of health professionals, as experts in health issues, goes beyond clinical care, expanding their area of competence into education and health promotion. This activity is carried out both specifically through educational intervention programs and in parallel with their clinical activities. Lack of physical activity and sedentary lifestyles are common causes of the most significant musculoskeletal problems in public health, with low back pain being the most prevalent as a result of an imbalance in lumbar spine stability. This refers to the loss of the spine's ability to maintain vertebral conditions in such a way that no damage or irritation to the spinal cord or nerve roots occurs, or pain that causes disability or leads to structural changes. Moreover, at least one episode of back pain is experienced by 70% to 85% of the population at some point in their lives, restricting daily activities and interpersonal relationships, leaving a lasting negative impact on emotional well-being. Objectives: To determine the relationship between sedentary behavior, pain intensity, and lumbar instability in clinical laboratory and pathological anatomy medical technologists. Materials and Methods: This study follows a hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, applied non-experimental design, cross-sectional cut, and correlational scope. Sedentary behavior will be measured using the Pérez-Rojas-García test, pain intensity will be assessed with the Visual Analog Scale, and lumbar instability will be evaluated with the passive lumbar extension test.
