Ítem Acceso abierto Burnout syndrome and professional quality of life in nursing staff working in the emergency department of a Level II hospital, Callao(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-14) Morales Rivadeneyra, Elizabeth Maribel; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeObjective: Determine the relationship that exists between Burnout Syndrome and quality of professional life in nursing staff who work in the Emergency Service of a Level II Hospital, Callao-2019. Material and methods: it was quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional, as for the instruments, the Burnout Inventory questionnaire created by Maslach (MBI) was used for Burnout Syndrome and for Professional Quality of Life the questionnaire (CVP 35) created Karasek R. The sample is equal to the population and is made up of 75 people who make up the nursing staff of the Emergency Service of a level II Hospital. A pilot test was carried out on the total population to demonstrate its reliability and validity. Results: The correlation between Burnout Syndrome variables and Professional Quality of Life according to Spearman's Rho -0.83, statistically shows that there is a strong and inverse relationship between Burnout Syndrome and quality of life in nursing staff who works in the Emergency Service. Conclusions: The Burnout Syndrome in the nursing staff of the Emergency Service is in a strong degree of association with the Quality of Professional Life, because the nursing staff manifests a high Burnout Syndrome with 31%, and with a 32% have medium burnout syndrome, and in the Professional Quality of Life it shows regular CVP with 49%.
