Ítem Acceso abierto Frequency of characteristics of lip impressions by Renaud's Classification in students of VIII and IX cycle of dentistry of the Norbert Wiener Private University, 2019.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-07-12) Reinoso Vega, Katherine Vanessa; Rojas Ortega, Raúl AntonioObjective: The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of lip print characteristics using Renaud's classification in students from the 8th and 9th cycle of Dentistry at the Norbert Wiener Private University in 2019. Methodology: An observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study was conducted. A total of 100 students from the 8th and 9th cycle of Dentistry participated, where their lip prints were taken, and information on lip print type, lip commissure, and lip thickness was collected through observation using a cheiloscopic form. Results: It was found that the most frequent lip print type was Type B for the upper lip and Type A for the lower lip. The horizontal commissure type showed a prevalence of 49.5%, with 58.1% in females and 45.6% in males. Among participants under 25 years old, the prevalence was 50%. Thick lips were the most common lip thickness type, observed in 35.4% of participants, with females showing the highest percentage at 38.7% and participants under 25 years old at 44.4%. Conclusion: The most frequent characteristics of lip prints were Type B, thick lips, and horizontal commissures among students from the 8th and 9th cycle of Dentistry at the Norbert Wiener Private University in 2019.
