Ítem Acceso abierto Variation of the liver biochemical profile during antiretroviral treatment in HIV-positive serum samples in a national hospital in Lima, 2015 - 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-26) Arrieta Calderon, Cesia Ruth; Barrial Vega, Miriam Lucero; Sandoval Vegas, Miguel HernánLiver disease in HIV-positive patients can be due to viral infection, antiretroviral therapy, and comorbidities or coinfections. A descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted. The sample consisted of HIV-positive patients in any stage of clinical infection receiving active antiretroviral therapy (ART), of both sexes, with results from liver profiles including Alanine Aminotransferase, Aspartate Aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, Gamma-Glutamyl Transpeptidase, and total proteins. Serum results were evaluated within normal limits and across three liver profile controls. One hundred HIV-positive patients with a mean age of 33±9.56 years were included. AST and ALT values decreased between the first and third control, with significant differences between normal and altered values for AST (p<0.05). GGT, FC, and PT showed no changes between controls or differences between normal and elevated patients.
