Ítem Acceso abierto Attitude of the dentist surgeon in the management of HIV/AIDS patients in the district of Chaclacayo, 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-10-18) Mallqui Cruz, Nancy Margot; Soto Vargas, Karina JanethThe main objective of this research was to determine the attitude of dentists in managing patients with HIV/AIDS in the district of Chaclacayo, 2018. Methodology: This study was prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive, and observational, including a sample of 66 licensed dentists working in the public, private, or both sectors in the district of Chaclacayo. The evaluation instrument applied was a questionnaire consisting of 14 questions with 3 Likert-type response options. Results: The most representative results showed a favorable attitude among dentists in patient care at 60.06% and an unfavorable attitude at 39.39%. By age, younger dentists demonstrated a favorable attitude at 34.85%. By gender, female dentists exhibited a favorable attitude at 36.36%. Regarding experience, dentists with less experience showed a favorable attitude at 24.0%. Additionally, dentists working in the private sector had a favorable attitude at 46.97%, where better patient care quality and greater resources were available. Conclusion: It was observed that dentists generally have a favorable attitude toward managing patients with HIV/AIDS.
