Ítem Acceso abierto Cellular descriptors of megakaryocytes in the bone marrow of patients with hematological malignancies at the INEN - 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-07-07) Valderrama Moreno, Mayra Consuelo; Avelino Callupe, Paul FortunatoCellular morphological recognition plays an important role in hematology, allowing for presumptive diagnoses if there is any morphological alteration. This recognition is mainly done through optical microscopy; however, digital hematological analyzers allow for capturing and storing images of different cells, which are subsequently classified based on the cell descriptors, which are quantitative morphological characteristics. This project aims to determine the geometric and colorimetric descriptors of megakaryocytes, considered elements of hematopoiesis present in a bone marrow aspirate, which present variable morphological characteristics related to the presence of hematological neoplasms. The study will analyze 366 images of megakaryocytes from bone marrow aspirates of patients with hematological neoplasms using random sampling and the Fiji system to delimit the regions of interest of the cells to obtain each cellular descriptor. Finally, the results will be evaluated and compared with similar research.
