Maternal and perinatal complications due to premature rupture of membranes in preterm pregnancy at Hospital Nacional María Auxiliadora, July 2011 to June 2012
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-07) Capcha Martínez, Nathaly Luz; Fernández Tornero, Carla; Orderique Torres, Luis Fernando
Objective: To determine maternal and perinatal complications due to premature rupture of membranes in preterm pregnancies at the Hospital Nacional María Auxiliadora, between July 2011 and June 2012. Methodology: Observational analytical case-control study. A total of 318 medical records of pregnant women with preterm pregnancies and premature rupture of membranes were reviewed to identify maternal and perinatal complications. Data collection was conducted using a structured format. Data processing and analysis were performed, and the results were presented in simple tables using the SPSS statistical package, version 18. Results: The average age ranged between 20 and 34 years. A history of previous preterm delivery was observed in 15.1%. The interpregnancy interval was greater than two years. Cervicovaginal infection was present in 54.7%. Multiparity was observed in 64.2% of patients. A total of 61.3% had more than six prenatal check-ups. The average gestational age was 34-36 weeks. The most frequent maternal complications were chorioamnionitis and cesarean delivery, at 28.3%. The most frequent perinatal complication was respiratory distress syndrome (67.9%), followed by sepsis (58.5%). Conclusions: The most frequent maternal complication was chorioamnionitis, while the most frequent perinatal complication was respiratory distress syndrome.

Maternal-fetal risk factors associated with premature rupture of membranes in patients attended at Hospital Nacional Hipólito Unanue during the period of January - July 2017
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-02-08) Tantalean Borja, Rosa Elizabeth; Alvites Ricse, Kiberlly Maribel; Flores Gamarra, Deny Andrea
Objective: to determine the maternal-fetal risk factors associated with premature rupture of membranes in patients treated at the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital during the period of January - July 2017. Materials and Method: analytical, retrospective, cross-sectional observational study. The study population was made up of the medical records of the patients treated in the Gynecology-obstetrics service of the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital. For data analysis, the statistical program SPSS version 22 was used where the descriptive and inferential analysis was carried out. Results: 10.9% of premature rupture of membranes was found in the period from January to July 2017. The average age was 26 years, with a range of (14 and 45 years), the maternal risk factors were: occupation, gestational age, inadequate prenatal control and urinary tract infection have a statistically significant value (P < 0.05) and macrosomia is the fetal risk factor associated with premature rupture of membranes. with a significant value (P< 0.05). Conclusion: the risk factors associated with premature rupture of membranes are occupation (housewife, dependent worker and independent worker), gestational age (term and preterm), inadequate prenatal control (less than 6 controls) and infection of the urinary tract. The fetal risk factor associated with premature rupture of membranes was fetal macrosomia.
