Enero – agosto. 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-07-03) Huamaní Parvina, Ana Maria; Salazar Tuanama, Rita HaydeeThe primary objective of this research study was to determine the metabolic complications of parenteral nutrition in patients in the Intensive Care Unit of the Grau Emergency Hospital, from January to August 2018. The study used a quantitative, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective methodology. Where the results were obtained in 20 patients who met the inclusion criteria, where the sociodemographic characteristics were presented in 60% of the age group from 60 to 69 of the total population, the most prevalent diagnosis being abdominal sepsis, of which the male sex was the one that presented the most metabolic complications (15.0%) and female (10.0%) and without complications of male sex 50.0% and female 25.0%, with hyperglycemia 98.0%, hypertriglyceridemia 71%, cholestasis in which bilirubin was found 32.3%, FA 58.1%, GGT 3.3%, TGO 9.8%, and TGP 7.2% who received PN for more than 14 days, presented 27 more frequent metabolic complications such as hypophosphatemia, hyponatremia, hyperkalemia and Hypomagnesemia, which concluded that 90.0% of metabolic complications were uneventful and 10.0% were problematic in intensive care patients receiving parenteral nutrition. Hypophosphatemia, hyponatremia, and hyperkalemia were the most common metabolic complications, with 55.56%, 22.20%, and 14.82% of patients, while hypomagnesemia was less common (7.42%).Publicación Acceso abierto Perfil ponderal metabólico por liraglutida en diabéticos, no diabéticos con obesidad en farmacia Clínica Delgado Auna. Liraglutide, a GLP-1 analogue, has demonstrated effectiveness in reducing body weight and improving metabolic indices in obese individuals, with or without diabetes1,2. “Objective” : of this study was to determine the weight and metabolic profile of liraglutide in obese and non-diabetic patients treated at the pharmacy service of Clínica Privada Delgado – Auna, Lima, Peru, between September and October 2025. “Materials and methods” : An observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study was conducted, based on the analysis of medical records and documented pharmacotherapeutic parameters. The sample consisted of 170 case and 170 control records of patients meeting the inclusion criteria.” Results” : that diabetic patients lost 7.71 kg and reduced their BMI from 36.76 to 34.07. Non-diabetics gained 8.2 kg and their BMI decreased from 36.05 to 33.13 kg. Metabolically, diabetics showed greater improvement: HbA1c decreased from 8.51% to 6.73%, glucose from 164 to 131 mg/dL, triglycerides by −99, and cholesterol by −41. In non diabetics, triglycerides decreased by −53 and cholesterol by −59, with minimal reductions in glucose and HbA1c. “Conclusion” : Significant differences between groups were confirmed (p<0.050), with the odds ratio showing a lower weight response associated with diabetes (weight 1.37; BMI 2.41), thus confirming the clear differences between the two profiles.
