Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the kangaroo mother method in reducing morbidity and mortality in low birth weight neonates.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-03-25) Prada Modragón de Cruz, Veronica Maruja; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the Kangaroo Mother Method in reducing morbidity and mortality in low birth weight neonates. Materials and Methods: A total of 9 scientific articles were selected on the effectiveness of the Kangaroo Mother Method in reducing morbidity and mortality in low birth weight neonates, found in the following databases: Lilacs, Pubmed, Medline, and Cochrane Plus. The selection included 2 systematic reviews, 1 systematic review and meta-analysis, 1 meta-analysis, 2 randomized clinical trials, 1 case-control study, and 2 prospective cohort studies. Results: Of the 9 articles reviewed, 100% (n=9/9) showed the effectiveness of the Kangaroo Mother Method in reducing morbidity and mortality in low birth weight neonates. Additionally, the articles highlighted benefits for the newborn, such as increased exclusive breastfeeding and optimal growth and development, compared to neonates who did not receive the Kangaroo Mother Method. Conclusions: There is sufficient scientific evidence on the efficacy and safety of the Kangaroo Mother Method in reducing morbidity and mortality in low birth weight neonates.Ítem Acceso abierto Enteral feeding and nutritional status of premature newborns in the intensive care unit of a public hospital in Lima – 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-09) Arpita Enríquez, Andrea Sthephany; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoIntroduction: Nutrition in premature newborns is a process of vital importance for the survival, growth and mental development of the infant, therefore the administration and role of the nursing professional are necessary. Objective: To determine the relationship between enteral feeding and the nutritional status of premature newborns in the Intensive Care Unit of a Public Hospital in Lima- 2023. Methods: the study has a hypothetical deductive method, based on a quantitative approach, and the basic type, with a descriptive correlational method and with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The population will be made up of 60 premature infants in intensive care units. For data collection, the instrument prepared by Cabrera "Feeding type registration form" will be used to measure the enteral feeding variables and the Frenton instrument "Growth curves", both instruments with adequate validity and reliability processes to be administered. The collected data will be processed to the SPSS version 24 database to carry out the descriptive analysis in the representation of tables and graphs and the inferential analysis for correlation of the variables with the use of Spearman's coefficient. These results will allow to establish the discussion and conclusions and recommendations.Ítem Acceso abierto Perception of humanized nursing care in mothers of newborns hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit of a public hospital, Lima 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-02-28) Blanco Quispe, Lesly Romeli; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoIntroduction: According to the WHO, Neonatal deaths account for around 44% of deaths among children under 5 years of age worldwide. In 2013, it estimated a total of around 2.8 million neonatal deaths. Of these, 99% occurred in developing countries, with the highest rates in sub-Saharan Africa (35 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2013). In Peru, according to epidemiological studies, the neonatal mortality rate has been reduced by approximately 60% from 1992 to 2013. However, neonatal mortality continues to represent a large percentage of infant mortality. The objective is to determine the perception of humanized care of mothers of newborns hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit of a public hospital, Lima 2020. The study design: has a quantitative approach, because statistical methods will be used to determine the levels of the variable. The design will be transversal because data are obtained at a single point in time. To calculate the sample for this research, we worked with a total estimated population of 73 mothers of hospitalized neonates, using a survey technique and the PCHE 3rd version instrument.Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between level of knowledge and attitude in the care that nurses have regarding the kangaroo mother method in premature infants less than 1500 grams in the NICU service of the National Maternal Perinatal Institute Lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-16) Huallpacuna Torres de Ttito, Luz Marina; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaApproximately twenty million babies with minimal birth weight are born worldwide annually as a result of premature labor, or due to problems in prenatal development; To this end, the Kangaroo Mother Method is implemented, whose main objective is to reduce infant mortality and prevent the effects of premature birth, based on exclusive breastfeeding, early stimulation, heat and skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby. The purpose of the research study was “to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes in the care of nurses regarding the kangaroo mother method of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Maternity of Lima, 2022.” The project under study works under the quantitative approach, method: hypothetical - deductive, applied type, and a non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational design. The population is made up of 75 graduate nurses from the “Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the National Maternal Perinatal Institute”. The technique to be used will be the survey and as an instrument the CORPUS questionnaire with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.934, and the MARQUEZ knowledge instrument with a Crombach's Alpha. If α = 0.5 or > the instrument is reliable. To determine the reliability of the device, the Crombach's Alpha coefficient of the directional device has been tested and measured at 0.50 in the attitude instrument.Ítem Acceso abierto Risk factors associated with neonatal mortality at the Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal, Lima, 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-02-28) Segura Yurivilca, Medalit Thalia; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoObjective: Determine the risk factors associated with neonatal mortality at the National Maternal Perinatal Institute, Lima, 2019. Material and method: it is a quantitative, analytical, cross-sectional investigation, the sample was 70 Clinical Records. A questionnaire with 21 items and a Likert scale was used as an instrument, with a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.763.
