Publicación Acceso abierto Estudio botánico, fitoquímico y farmacológico de la actividad cicatrizante de Morus alba L. (mora o morera blanca)(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-07-11) Cano Kriete, Tania Zulema; Cano Pérez, Carlos AlfredoThe present research encompasses the botanical, phytochemical, and pharmacological study of the wound-healing activity of white mulberry Morus alba Link. In the botanical study, the internal structures of white mulberry (Morus alba) were analyzed through histological sections of the root, stem, and leaves. In the phytochemical study, the powdered sample was used for the hydroalcoholic maceration of white mulberry leaves. Through a phytochemical screening, the chemical compounds of white mulberry were identified. In the pharmacological study, it was ultimately determined that the cream formulated with the dry extract of white mulberry leaves (Morus alba) exhibits wound-healing activity with a therapeutic efficacy percentage similar to other treatments administered topically to albino mice. This pharmacological activity is possibly due to the presence of flavonoids and tannins.
