Culture of patient safety and attitude towards the recording of adverse events in nurses of the intensive care unit of an Essalud hospital, Callao - 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-08-13) Huayama López, Alma Valeria Priscilla; Fernández Rengifo, Werther Fernando
Objective: To establish how the culture of patient safety is related to the attitude towards of adverse events in nurses who work in the intensive care unit. Materials and methods: The study is presented with a quantitative approach, of nonexperimental design with the participation of 60 nursing professionals to whom the survey technique will be applied based on the use of two questionnaires. The first patient safety culture instrument comprises 42 items. The second instrument of attitude towards the registration of adverse events is a Likert scale of attitude towards the reporting of adverse events that proposes 20 items and consists of 3 dimensions divided into: cognitive, behavioral and affective components. Both instruments are validated. After data collection, descriptive statistical analysis will be carried out using tables and graphs, in the case of inferential statistics, Spearman's Rho will be applied to test the hypotheses.

Culture of patient safety, in the nursing staff of the surgical center service of the Ricardo Palma clinic
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-08-30) Quito Pizan, Yossy Karen; Cárdenas de Fernández, María Hilda
Introduction: According to the WHO (World Health Organization), patient safety is the reduction of the risk of harm associated with healthcare to an acceptable minimum. Meanwhile, safety culture is defined as the set of values and norms shared by individuals within the same organization and involves a shared mental model that positions safety as a common goal to pursue. Objective: To determine the level of patient safety culture developed by nursing staff in the surgical center of the Ricardo Palma Clinic in October 2020. Methodology: A descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional study will be conducted. The study population will consist of 50 individuals, including technicians and nurses working within the surgical center. The instrument used will be the Spanish version of the patient safety questionnaire, which assesses 5 dimensions: teamwork, communication, leadership and management, and supervision. The data obtained will be tabulated and processed statistically using the SPSS 22 statistical package and Excel.

Effectiveness of safe nursing practices for the prevention of adverse events in hospitalized children
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-01) Osorio Julca, Rosa Priscila; Chirhuana Juárez, Claudia; Basurto Santillán, Ivan Javier
Objective: To systematize the evidence found on the effectiveness of safe nursing practices for the prevention of adverse events in hospitalized children. Material and Methods: Systematic review, based on critical reading and carried out under the GRADE evaluation system to assess the quality of the evidence of the articles selected from the following databases: Epistemonikos, Sciencedirect, PubMed, Researchgate, Scielo, Elsevier. Results: The reviewed articles showed that 60% are systematic reviews and meta-analyses, 10% are quantitative cross-sectional studies, 10% are bibliographic reviews, 10% are descriptive cross-sectional studies and 10% are cohort studies. While 80% showed that safe nursing practice interventions for the prevention of adverse events in hospitalized children are effective. Conclusion: Of the 10 systematically reviewed articles (8/10) it was found that safe nursing practice interventions for the prevention of adverse events in hospitalized children are effective and in (2/10) no significant effectiveness was found.

Effects of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy on physical deconditioning in tracheotomized patients, Intensive Care Unit - Hospital III Iquitos, 2024
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-21) Oblitas Vasquez, Nathalie Mayte; Cautín Martinez, Noemi Esther
The intensive care unit (ICU) provides life support and treatment to critically ill patients who require assisted mechanical ventilation, invasive monitoring, cardiovascular support, and prolonged prescribed or unavoidable rest. This creates limitations, deficiencies, and disabilities during their stay, developing pathological conditions related to the cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal systems. This increases mortality in patients hospitalized with complications of functional disability and generalized muscular disorders, decreasing their quality of life after hospital discharge. The American Thoracic Society associates ICU-acquired weakness (ICUAW) with generalized weakness in the limbs. It generates multiple impacts, such as in the nervous system, with critical patient polyneuropathy and skeletal muscle dysfunction. ICUAW and neuromuscular dysfunction are predictors for difficulties in weaning from mechanical ventilation (MV). Neuromuscular blockers and corticosteroids are related to ICUAW. This results in difficulties in weaning from MV and consumes approximately 40% of ICU resources. Mechanical ventilation is the most common reason for ICU admission, and when prolonged and unable to be withdrawn, tracheostomy is suggested as the only alternative. Current evidence recommends integrating an exercise program within the ICU, reducing the rate of functional disability.

Risk management and patient safety in the nursing services of an EsSalud hospital, 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-12-03) Martinez Montoya, Digna Patricia; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos Antonio
Objective: To determine the relationship between risk management and patient safety in the nursing services of an EsSalud Hospital, 2023. Methods: The research will be quantitative and will use the hypothetical-deductive method, the type of research will be applied, the design will be non-experimental, the cut will be transversal and the level will be correlational. As for the population, 300 people will be taken into account who are part of the health personnel, including nurses in the areas of medicine, surgery, ambulatory and mother-child of an EsSalud hospital in the city of Lima, Peru. The technique to be used will be the survey and the instruments will be the questionnaire and the Likert scale. The instruments were previously validated and are questionnaires that will measure the variables, namely: The reliability coefficient of Cronbach's Alpha of 0.857 for both instruments were 0.817 for the risk assessment questionnaire and 0.876 for patient safety; The results will be tabulated to elaborate the necessary statistics and, if necessary, interpreted by means of tables and graphs. Finally, the degree of relationship between the two variables will be evaluated using Spearman's coefficient and the Chi-square test, which will provide an answer to the stated objective.
