Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the neonatal metabolic screening program for early detection of congenital hypothyroidism in newborns(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-17) Alvarado Reyes, Martha Luzmila; Neyra Hizo, Melissa Antonia; Glenni Garay, Zarely ZabeliObjective: to systematize the evidence about the effectiveness of the neonatal metabolic screening program for the early detection of congenital hypothyroidism in newborns. Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. Of the systematic review of 10 articles, 80% were descriptive and 20% were systematic reviews. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading. using the grade system to assign recommendation strength. Results:. 20% of articles found evidence of effectiveness, showing high levels of sensitivity and specificity. 70% of articles found evidence of effectiveness, showing adequate cut-off points for the prevalence of the disease and low recall rates. 10% of articles found evidence of effectiveness, showing good prognoses for mental development in newborns detected early. Conclusions: The review of the 10 articles shows the effectiveness of the neonatal screening program for congenital hypothyroidism.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of universal hearing screening tests in newborns to prevent language development deterioration(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-12-07) Bocanegra Dávila, Lupe Korine; Alfaro Hernández, Yoana Milagros; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaOBJECTIVE: Systematize evidence on the effectiveness of universal screening tests for hearing loss in newborns to prevent deterioration in language development. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The study has a systematic, observational and retrospective review design; of articles with full text, which identified their grade or quality of evidence according to the Grade System. Likewise, the population was made up of 10 articles obtained from the following databases Pubmed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, Dialnet, Scielo, and Lilacs. Of which 90% correspond to randomized clinical studies and 10% to systematic review design, corresponding to the countries of Iran 20%, Spain 20%, Italy 10%, South Africa 10%, Nigeria 10%, Brazil 10%, Chile 10% and Colombia 10%. RESULTS: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 100% demonstrate the effectiveness of universal hearing loss screening tests in newborns to prevent deterioration in language development. CONCLUSIONS: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 10 out of 10 show that universal screening tests for hearing loss in newborns are effective in preventing deterioration in language development; Likewise, their cognitive function, intellect, cultural, emotional and socioeconomic development; Therefore, the delay in diagnosis has great consequences for learning with limited educational opportunities; Timely diagnosis through newborn hearing screening and appropriate rehabilitation measures will improve with better long-term outcome; that is, benefiting newborns, parents, and cost-effectiveness-benefit; bringing healthy children into the world, without risk of hearing problems and with high human potential in the future.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of neonatal screening in the detection of congenital diseases of the newborn.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-12) Contreras Perez, Silvia Marisol|Chung Pinedo, Lesly; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerThe study type is a Quantitative Systematic Review, constituted by a population of 39 articles, with a selected sample of 10. Methodology: quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive correlational research, with a population of 218 mothers identified in the metabolic neonatal screening program, with a simple random sample of 95 mothers, the survey technique will be used for mothers absent from neonatal screening. metabolic, which are corroborated by documentary data through the individual and group sheets of factors of absence of the neonatal screening program, the questionnaire is valid and reliable by the author Aristi (2018) by Kuder de Richardson of 0.965, comprised of 36 items with a dichotomous response of yes and no, dimensioned by 3 factors: sociocultural, knowledge and institutional; After coordination with the Hospital institution, data is collected that will be interpreted by the SPSS version 25 program and using Pearson's correlation, evidence will be interpreted that will be presented in tables.Ítem Acceso abierto Factors related to absenteeism of mothers to neonatal metabolic screening in a maternal and child center in Lima(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-26) Llanos Alberca, Carolina Isabel; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos AntonioIntroduction: Neonatal screening is a vital process that identifies apparently healthy newborns with serious inherited disorders, usually of metabolic origin, that can usually be corrected by dietary or pharmacological interventions before they suffer significant subsequent morbidity and mortality; That is, expanded neonatal screening, a single test, allows early detection and treatment of a large number of disorders and can potentially prevent serious consequences. Objective: Determine the relationship between the factors and the absenteeism of mothers to neonatal metabolic screening in a Maternal and Child Center, 2023. Methodology: The method will be hypothetical-deductive, quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental and correlational design; the population made up of 90 mothers of newborns under 29 days old; and the sampling will be non-probabilistic for convenience and intention. The study techniques will be surveys and two validated questionnaires. To collect data, processing will be carried out using the statistical software Microsoft Excel 2021 and the SPSS Statistical Program version 26.0; and to calculate the contracting of the hypothesis, the Spearman Correlation Test (Rh0) will be applied to determine the relationship between the variables.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge about metabolic neonatal screening and attitude in postpartum mothers in a maternal and child center in Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-26) Vásquez Terrones, Rosa Emelina; Camarena Chamaya, Luis MiguelIntroduction: Metabolic neonatal screening identifies conditions that may affect the health or survival of the child, where early detection, diagnosis and intervention can prevent death or disability, and allow them to reach their full potential. Objective: Determine how knowledge is related to attitude regarding metabolic neonatal screening in postpartum mothers in a Maternal and Child Center in Lima, 2023. Methods: Applied, quantitative, non-experimental and descriptive correlational study. The census sample of the study will consist of 90 postpartum mothers of newborns. The survey will be used to apply two questionnaires adapted by Álvarez on knowledge, and Condori and Achata on attitudes for the target population, they are validated and reliable to measure the variables in question. The collected data will be processed by applying the SPSS version 26.0 program and the hypothesis tests will be tested using the Spearman correlation coefficient (Rho) statistical test.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge about metabolic screening of postpartum mothers, in a hospital in Lima 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-29) Atahua Quispe, Maribel; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MariaObjective: to describe the level of knowledge of postpartum mothers about neonatal screening in a Hospital in Lima, 2021.
