    Effectiveness of traditional medicine in preventing complications in patients with nephrotic syndrome

    Systematic, observational and retrospective review design study, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice. Results: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles found shows that 100% (n=10/10) favor the effectiveness of traditional medicine to prevent complications in patients with nephrotic syndrome. Conclusion: It is evident that traditional medicine has positive efficacy for the treatment of nephrotic syndrome and also for other pathologies. In 4 of the 10 evidences, the medicinal herb Huangqi granules (Astragalus) was used, due to its potential on the immune system and increasing immune defenses. In 4 of the 10 pieces of evidence, the authors refer to traditional Chinese medicine Tripterygium Wilfordii Hook F for having an immunosuppressive effect and being favorable for the recovery of patients with nephrotic syndrome. Traditional medicines are promising therapies to avoid complications and slow the progression of nephrotic syndrome.
