Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of targeted noise reduction strategies to ameliorate stress on physiological systems in the neonatal intensive care unit(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-01-25) Zumaeta Becerril, Lleny; Vásquez Lévano, Severina Paola; Uturunco Vera, Milagros LizbethObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of targeted noise reduction strategies to improve the stress of physiological systems in the neonatal intensive care unit. Material and Methods: The systematic review of 10 articles that had as their topic the effectiveness of strategies aimed at reducing noise to improve the stress of physiological systems, were found from the following databases: Pubmed, Epistemonikos, medline were analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine its strength and quality of evidence. Results: According to the study design, 30% systematic reviews, 30% randomized controlled trial, 20% quasi-experimental, 10% case-control group and 10% case-control group were found. Of the evidence found, it shows that 70% of the targeted strategies are effective and 30% could not demonstrate the effectiveness of the strategies due to the lower number of investigations. Conclusion: It was concluded that 7 of 10 evidence shows that there is effectiveness of the strategies in reducing noise reaching between 45 dB to 56.6 dB, and that 3 of 10 of the evidence could not demonstrate effectiveness of strategies due to the lower number of evidence.
