For its development, a correlational and retrospective research design was used, as the goal was to recognize oral habits in children aged 7 to 12 years and relate them to different stages of malocclusions. This research was cross-sectional because it collects data at a single point in time. The study used a non-probabilistic convenience sampling method, with 90 children treated at the Central Military Hospital in Lima. The technique used for data collection was the collection form, which allows for systematic and organized gathering of information about the variables involved in the study.
