    Analysis of the content of critical nutrients in snack products sold in Lima-Peru, 2021

    Octagonal labeling has proven to be an effective strategy in reducing overweight and obesity rates, due to the warnings that come on packages with the image of one or more octagons depending on the snack product that contains critical nutrients such as sugar, sodium, saturated fat and trans fat. If a person is overweight or obese, the possibility of developing diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, among others, increases in the future. That is why this research was born as a contribution of knowledge for people who not only recognize and know octagons, but also They also raise awareness about the content of critical nutrients in relation to the comparison parameters according to the information declared on each product.

    Content of critical nutrients declared in the nutritional labeling of confectionery products sold by a supermarket in the district of Villa el Salvador, 2022

    Objectives: Determine the content of critical nutrients declared on the nutritional labeling of confectionery products sold in a supermarket in the district of Villa el Salvador, 2022. Methodology: Inductive research with a quantitative, applied approach and with a cross-sectional descriptive design. Critical nutrients were determined using nutritional labels collected in the supermarket, taking as reference the octagons, which indicate the critical levels of sugar, sodium and saturated fat. Results: Regarding the sugar content, 68.5% of the total (35) of the confectionery products analyzed exceed the limit established in the regulations, in addition, 100% have a permitted percentage of sodium and according to the amount of fats the 37.4% of the total (35) are above the Peruvian Technical Standard No. 30021. Conclusion: It is concluded that the percentages of sugar in the confectionery products analyzed do not comply with the Peruvian Technical Standard No. 30021, while for sodium it complies with those indicated in the standard and saturated fats present a high percentage that does not comply with what is established by the regulations.

    Critical nutrients declared in the milk and dairy product labeling from the evaporated category of main brands in Peru, 2021

    Introduction: Nutritional labeling provides information on the content and amount of nutrients in a product, and this information must be accurate and objective to make purchasing decisions, as it includes crucial nutrients like "critical nutrients," whose inadequate intake could lead to non-communicable diseases. Objectives: Determine the amount of critical nutrients declared and compliance with labeling regulations for evaporated milk and dairy products from leading brands in Peru, 2021. Design: Quantitative, non-experimental, prospective-cross-sectional study. Population: Evaporated milk and dairy products from leading brands in Peru. Results: 100% of the evaluated products failed to meet the technical standards of Law 30021 in at least one of the three critical nutrients. 71.4% of products complied with the established labeling requirements, while 28.6% did not. Conclusions: All products declared at least 2 of the critical nutrients above the technical standards set by Law 30021, and 100% of the products complied with at least one of the two labeling parameters.

    Dietary behaviors and nutritional status in patients treated at a hemodialysis clinic Lima 2023

    Objective: To determine the relationship between eating behaviors and the nutritional status of patients treated at a hemodialysis clinic in Lima 2023. Methodology: The study will consider the hypothetical deductive method, quantitative approach, correlational design, cross-sectional; where a census sample of 82 patients receiving hemodialysis, adults with Chronic Kidney Disease who sign the informed consent will be included; The technique considered was the survey whose instrument corresponds to a questionnaire for the identification of eating behaviors; while, the nutritional status will be evaluated through documentary analysis, reviewing the medical records of each patient in a data sheet; These instruments are validated (p: 0.04) and reliable (KR-20: 0.91). Results: The data will be processed considering a dichotomous coding with values of 0 and 1, considering higher values for the appropriate behavior; while for the nutritional status it will be determined with the score assigned in normal, moderate and mild. Conclusions: The relationship test between the study variables will be demonstrated by contrasting hypotheses using the Pearson Correlation statistical test.

    Differences in the content of critical nutrients in fruit juices and nectars sold in supermarkets of Villa María del Triunfo, may 2023

    Nutritional labeling is used as a tool to identify and inform about the nutrients in processed and ultra-processed products consumed daily in our country. Objective: To determine compliance with the content of critical nutrients in fruit juices and nectars sold in supermarkets in the VMT district in May 2023. Methodology: Quantitative study with a non-experimental, prospective, and cross-sectional approach. Population: Fruit juices and nectars sold in Lima, Peru, in May 2023. Results: The study included a total of 74 products, subdivided into juice, drinks, and nectar categories. It was found that 17.6% (n=13) of the products were juices, 71.6% (n=53) were drinks, and 10.8% (n=8) were nectars. Regarding compliance with technical parameters, there was a difference in the critical nutrient sugar, with 70.3% (n=52) of the sample meeting the Ministry of Health (MINSA) parameters and 16.2% meeting the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) standards. Conclusion: It is essential to develop different habits when shopping, including checking the nutritional labeling of products to understand their nutritional content.

    Estado nutricional y anemia ferropénica en niños menores de 3 años en el Centro de Salud Churin, 2025

    La anemia ferropénica constituye un problema de salud pública que afecta significativamente a la población infantil, especialmente en menores de 3 años, donde su relación con el estado nutricional puede determinar el desarrollo y crecimiento adecuado. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre el estado nutricional y la anemia ferropénica en niños menores de 3 años en el Centro de Salud Churin, 2025. El método de estudio fue hipotético – deductiva, de nivel correlacional, con diseño no experimental, enfoque cuantitativo y de tipo aplicada. La muestra de 92 niños, los datos se tomarán de las historias clínicas. Los datos serán analizados empleando el software SPSS versión 27. Inicialmente, se realizará un análisis descriptivo que se representará mediante tablas y figuras. Posteriormente, se llevará a cabo un análisis inferencial utilizando la prueba no paramétrica de Kolmogórov-Smirnov. Según la distribución de los datos, se aplicará la correlación de Pearson o el coeficiente Rho de Spearman.

    Evaluation of the content of critical nutrients and ingredients declared in the labeling of yogurts aimed at children, Lima-Peru in the year 2021.

    Currently, in Peru, there is very little education to understand the descriptions declared on food product labels, leading to unconscious and irresponsible purchases. This research aims to clearly present which yogurts are directed at this population and meet consumer desires. Objective: To determine the compliance of critical nutrients and ingredients declared on the labels of yogurts aimed at children in Lima, Peru, from October to December 2021, according to Peruvian regulations. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional inductive study using convenience sampling. Yogurts aimed at children sold in 4 major supermarkets in Lima, Peru, between October and December 2021 were collected. The yogurts were classified according to the Peruvian Technical Standard 202.092, and the compliance of critical nutrients declared on the yogurt labels was determined according to the Advertising Warning Manual established by Law No. 30021, the law promoting healthy food for children and adolescents, and the ingredients declared on the labels were compared with the Peruvian Technical Standard 209.038.

    Factors associated with the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding in mothers of children under six months old who attend the growth and development service in an essalud hospital, Lima

    Breast milk is the best and only food that every child under 6 months should receive. As recommended by the World Health Organization. Breast milk contains nutrients, vitamins, minerals, water, necessary for the proper growth of the child. In addition to protecting it from allergies and helping to strengthen the mother-child bond. There are various factors that could influence the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding; social and cultural factors and their relationship between them will be investigated. The present academic work is a quantitative, cross-sectional and correlational study. Its population would be made up of 80 mothers of children under 6 months old who attend the growth and development service of the Essalud Hospital, Lima. What we seek is to demonstrate what are the factors associated with the abandonment of breastfeeding. Its results will allow the creation or search for strategies to strengthen breastfeeding, for the benefit of mother and child.

    Factors linked to the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) in mothers from La Clínica María del Socorro, located in the ATE-2020 district

    Objective To determine the factors linked to the abandonment of Exclusive Breastfeeding in mothers from the María del Socorro Clinic, located in the District of Ate. Among the materials, a review of the bibliographic material was applied. Regarding the method, a quantitative study was carried out on 50 mothers in the postpartum stage, who regularly attend pediatric check-ups at the María del Socorro clinic. The interview was used as a data collection technique and the researcher Carhuas Jem's questionnaire, which has been validated by the Expert Judgment method with 5 Judges and for reliability the Tes-Reset technique has been applied. Data collection took place over a month and the interviews lasted an estimated 35 minutes. Among the relevant results, it was possible to determine several factors, such as socioeconomic ones, where 56% have a marital status of cohabiting and 64% have a higher education level, however, 68% are not working, 50% are dedicated to household chores and 48% of the mothers have an insufficient economic income, the majority (84%) coming from the Sierra and the Coast. Also cultural factors, where 96% consider breast milk as an ideal food and 60% as a provider of nutrients to the child. In conclusion, the evidence found could be linked to the abandonment of EBF.
