Ítem Acceso abierto Exposure to chromium and the risk of cancer in industrial sector workers(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-17) Calderón Huaranca, Lourdes Verónica; Vásquez Martínez, Alfredo; Borda Izquierdo, AlejandroIn the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, we found that 10% are from the country of Spain, 10% Germany, 40% USA, 10% Japan, 20% Italy and 10% from Slovakia. Where, of the total number of articles analyzed, 60% are systematic reviews, 30% are cohort studies, and 10% are case-control studies, in both there is scientific evidence that in the face of cumulative occupational exposure to hours worked in workers exposed to chromium VI in the industrial sector there are risk factors for suffering from occupational cancer.Ítem Acceso abierto Oral cryotherapy as non-pharmacological treatment for the prevention of oral mucositis in patients with cancer chemotherapy(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-05) Sánchez Saavedra, Solange Zulema; Cerdán Calderón, Yolanda Mary; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleSystematic review of 10 scientific articles on the efficacy of oral cryotherapy in preventing chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis, retrieved from databases such as Lilacs, Scielo, Medline, and Pubmed, and analyzed using the GRADE scale to determine the strength and quality of evidence. Results: Ten articles were analyzed, of which 50% were randomized controlled trials, 20% retrospective reviews, 20% systematic reviews, and 10% experimental studies. All articles (100%) concluded that oral cryotherapy is effective in reducing the incidence and severity of chemotherapy-induced mucositis, with 50% effectiveness for 5-fluorouracil chemotherapy and 50% for melphalan chemotherapy. Conclusions: Oral cryotherapy administered before, during, and after bolus 5-fluorouracil and high-dose melphalan administration in patients undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation is effective in reducing the incidence and severity of oral mucositis. No effectiveness was demonstrated with other cytostatics such as methotrexate and edrexate.
