    Level of knowledge about biosafety in times of the Covid-19 pandemic of the dentist graduated from a Private University - Lima, 2021

    The main objective of this study was to determine the level of knowledge that graduates of the Universidad Norbert Wiener had about biosecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a quantitative applied study with an observational design. The sample (n=264) was selected randomly, considering graduates of the Universidad Norbert Wiener. A questionnaire, validated by expert judgment and pre-tested to ensure its reliability, was applied to the participants. The questionnaire consisted of 29 items on conceptual knowledge about biosecurity for dentists during the COVID-19 pandemic, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hand washing, and management and disposal of dental waste. The level of knowledge was categorized as high, medium, or low, depending on the final score obtained: ≥ 21, 11-20, or ≤ 10 points, respectively. The results were presented through frequency tables and graphs, with scales ranging between 35%, 48%, and mostly 52%. Finally, the result of the hypothesis test showed an approximate significance of 0%, which determined that the hypothesis was null, concluding that more than 52% of dental graduates were knowledgeable about biosecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
