Ítem Acceso abierto Cognitive Level of Parents About Toothpastes and Their Relationship in Prevention and Oral Health(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-29) Paiva Guerrero, Kevin; Araujo Farje, Jessica JazminOral health care in children is important because it allows for optimal dental caries indices and prevention during the stages of permanent tooth eruption. In children, it is the parents who are responsible for their children's overall health care, and the oral cavity is a part of it. Objective: To determine the cognitive level of parents about toothpaste and its relationship to the prevention of oral health in their children from the Juana Marlene Uribe Romero school in the district of San Martín de Porres. Methodology: The approach was quantitative, as numerical data was collected using a Likert scale. The design was basic and non-experimental because the study variables were not manipulated. Surveys were applied to 70 parents to collect data on the cognitive level and prevention, while an observation form based on the ICDAS and IHOS was used for oral health. Results: The results showed that the cognitive level of parents is significantly positively related to prevention (0.003 < 0.05 and r = 0.515, moderate) and oral health (0.002 < 0.05 and r = 0.613, high). Additionally, the cognitive level of parents regarding toothpaste was 31% very good and 40% good. For oral prevention in children, 37% was good and 44% was average, and for children's oral health, 63% was good and 4% was average. Conclusion: There is a significant positive relationship between the cognitive level of parents about toothpaste and the prevention of oral health in children from the Juana Marlene Uribe Romero primary school in San Martín de Porres, 2022, with a moderate relationship in prevention (r = 0.515) and a high relationship in oral health (r = 0.613)Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of the sociodrama educational technique in the learning of oral health care by the parents of children with trisomy 21 between 3 and 10 years of CEBE No. 13 Jesús Amigo, Lima, 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-01-23) Mena Victoria, Janet Elisa; Salcedo Rioja, Mercedes RitaThe objective of this research was to determine the effectiveness of applying the educational technique sociodrama in learning oral health care among the guardians of children aged 3 to 10 years with Down syndrome (trisomy 21) at CEBE N°13 "Jesús Amigo", Lima, 2018. The study sample consisted of 60 guardians of children aged 3 to 10, divided into two groups: control and experimental. Both groups were given a pre-test and post-test survey and were trained through a lecture and the educational technique sociodrama. The results revealed that the application of informational lectures improved the guardians' knowledge level regarding oral health care. However, this improvement was lower compared to the increased knowledge about oral health care through the application of the sociodrama educational technique, as a significant increase in scores was observed in the statistical analysis, in comparison to the group trained with only lectures. Upon comparing the before and after application of the sociodrama educational technique, it proved to be effective within the "very good" range for learning oral health care.Ítem Acceso abierto Mental health in times of covid-19 and oral health care in patients of the Multident Monterrico Dental Center, Surco - 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-17) Saldaña Palomino, Stefany Brigitte; Llerena Meza De Pastor, VerónicaThe study was titled "Mental Health during COVID-19 and Oral Health Care in Patients at the Multident Monterrico Dental Center, Surco-2022." Mental health is one of the most affected factors during the pandemic due to social isolation, leading to neglect in oral health and hygiene. The general objective was to determine the relationship between mental health (stress, anxiety, and depression) during COVID-19 and oral health care in patients at the Multident Monterrico Dental Center, Surco. The methodology followed was a hypothetical-deductive approach with a quantitative focus, basic type, and non-experimental design. The population consisted of all clients of the dental center, totaling 235 patients, with a sample size of 147 patients determined through random probabilistic sampling with 95% confidence and 5% error. Data was collected using a virtual survey technique via Google Forms. Main results showed that mental health in patients at the Multident Monterrico Dental Center had a regular level (49%), and oral health had a regular level (50%). The study concluded that there is a moderate significant relationship between mental and oral health (r = 0.409), as well as between the dimensions of stress (r = 0.402), anxiety (r = 0.302), and depression (r = 0.419).
