Ítem Acceso abierto Manual for the care of work posture and its influence on musculoskeletal pain in dental surgeons, Huaraz 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-05) Meza Manrique, Miguel Angel; Maldonado Perez, Jessica YvonneThe aim of this research was to determine the variation in work posture and its influence on osteomuscular pain after applying a manual of postural care in dental surgeons, Huaraz 2022. The hypothetical-deductive method was used as the study relied on observation and surveys. Observation was employed to recognize "work posture," and the survey was used to identify "osteomuscular pain" in a sample of 129 dental surgeons. The study had a quantitative approach, applied type, with a quasi-experimental design, educational intervention, observational, and longitudinal. The statistical test used was mean difference to analyze the variation between pre-test and post-test using the SPSS version 26.0 software. The results showed the variation in work posture after applying the manual, with a positive change in relation to inadequate postures. Among the causes of osteomuscular discomfort identified by the dental surgeons, work posture (40%) and work hours (39%) were the most significant. The osteomuscular areas with the greatest variation in discomfort were the neck and wrist. It was concluded that work posture and its influence on osteomuscular pain were improved in dental surgeons through the application of the manual.
