Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of hearing protectors for the prevention of hearing loss in workers exposed to noise(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-04-07) Candiotti Guzman, Cynthia Fiorella; Tintaya Puma, Sandra; Glenni Garay, Zarely ZabeliThe academic work is a Systematic Review that synthesizes the results of multiple investigations. The search was restricted to articles with full text submitted to a critical reading, using the GRADE system to assign the strength of recommendation. In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, finding that 20% (02) of the total articles correspond to Spain. , another 20% (02) corresponds to Chile, 20% (02) more to Brazil, while 10% (01) corresponds to Mexico, another 10% (01) to Colombia, 10% (1) to Paraguay and finally another 10% (01) corresponds to the United Kingdom. These are mostly descriptive (40%), followed by quasi-experimental studies (30%), systematic review (10%), pre-experimental studies (10%), cohorts (10%), where of the total articles analyzed 90% affirm that hearing protectors are effective in preventing hearing loss, while 10% affirm that there is no significant information that supports the idea of better attenuation with the use of hearing protectors. The conclusion of this review is that hearing protectors are effective in preventing hearing loss in workers exposed to noise; There are also factors that can alter its effectiveness, such as the correct use of hearing protectors by the worker and training.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of non-invasive positive pressure mechanical ventilation in patients with acute asthma attending the emergency department(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-02) Colfer Arteaga, Jackelyn Paola; Nuñez Vidal, Josefina Elizabeth; Borda Izquierdo, AlejandroObjective: Systematize the effectiveness of interventions to prevent hearing loss in workers exposed to occupational noise. Materials and Methods: Systematic reviews are a form of research that compiles and provides a summary on a specific topic (aimed at answering a research question); They must be carried out according to a pre-established design. It is a systematic review of 10 selected articles, using the database Epistemonikos, Pubmed, Researchgate, Scielo, Open library. The 10 articles selected are quantitative research, 40% (4) are systematic review, 20% (2) are quasi-experimental, 20% (2) are cohort, and 10% (1) are cross-sectional. Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, we found that 30% (03) correspond to Finland and the United States, while with 10% (01) we find Spain, Norway, England and Denmark respectively. In this systematic review, according to the evidence found, it is concluded that the effectiveness of interventions to prevent hearing loss in workers exposed to occupational noise is the application of technical measures, the implementation of hearing loss prevention programs, a shorter duration of occupational exposure to noise and the application of stricter legislation. Conclusion: It was evident in the reviewed research that technical measures such as the use of hearing protection devices are the most effective to prevent hearing loss in workers exposed to occupational noise.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of universal hearing screening tests in newborns to prevent language development deterioration(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-12-07) Bocanegra Dávila, Lupe Korine; Alfaro Hernández, Yoana Milagros; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaOBJECTIVE: Systematize evidence on the effectiveness of universal screening tests for hearing loss in newborns to prevent deterioration in language development. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The study has a systematic, observational and retrospective review design; of articles with full text, which identified their grade or quality of evidence according to the Grade System. Likewise, the population was made up of 10 articles obtained from the following databases Pubmed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, Dialnet, Scielo, and Lilacs. Of which 90% correspond to randomized clinical studies and 10% to systematic review design, corresponding to the countries of Iran 20%, Spain 20%, Italy 10%, South Africa 10%, Nigeria 10%, Brazil 10%, Chile 10% and Colombia 10%. RESULTS: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 100% demonstrate the effectiveness of universal hearing loss screening tests in newborns to prevent deterioration in language development. CONCLUSIONS: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 10 out of 10 show that universal screening tests for hearing loss in newborns are effective in preventing deterioration in language development; Likewise, their cognitive function, intellect, cultural, emotional and socioeconomic development; Therefore, the delay in diagnosis has great consequences for learning with limited educational opportunities; Timely diagnosis through newborn hearing screening and appropriate rehabilitation measures will improve with better long-term outcome; that is, benefiting newborns, parents, and cost-effectiveness-benefit; bringing healthy children into the world, without risk of hearing problems and with high human potential in the future. Conclusión: Existe relación significativa positiva alta entre la hipoacusia con el síndrome metabólico en conductores de una empresa de transportes de Ancash 2022-2024.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge of the use of personal digital audio players and their relationship with hearing loss in workers attending the audiometry service at Salud Laboris Clinic, Lima - 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-07-10) Arnao Salinas, Patricia Rosmery; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjective: Determine the relationship between knowledge of the use of personal digital audio players and Hearing Loss in workers who attend the audiometry service of the Salus Laboris 2022 Clinic. Methodology: the study will be hypothetical, deductive, descriptive, correlational. The population will be 630 whose sample is 239. The instrument that will be used for the first variable will be the questionnaire that will be taken from a research work from the National University of the Altiplano of Puno, whose author is Yesica Inquilla Quispe in her thesis titled “Knowledge about the use of headphones and their effects on hearing in students of the Potojani Grande Industrial Agricultural Industrial Secondary Educational Institution Chucuito, Puno – 2018.” The instrument of the second variable will be the audiogram, which is universally used in the tone audiometry examination, which is a functional test to determine the degree of hearing of people. This format will be obtained from the audiometric evaluation format used by the Salus Laboris Clinic in the evaluation of occupational medical examinations.Ítem Acceso abierto Occupational exposure to noise of workers in the welding workshop of an open pit mine in northern Peru, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-10-25) Gamarra Castro, Lida Carmen; Pretell Aguliar, Rosa MaríaThe occupational exposure to noise of workers in a welding workshop at an open-pit mine in northern Peru is evaluated based on two relevant factors: the location within the welding workshop and the specific activity performed by the workers. Ignorance of its influence could lead to an underestimation of the workers' noise exposure risk and, consequently, the effectiveness of the hearing conservation program. The objective of this research is to determine the occupational exposure to noise of the workers in the welding workshop. The approach is quantitative, with a cross-sectional, descriptive, and prospective design, of a longitudinal nature. The population will consist of 120 workers, and the stratified sample will include 70 workers, with 35 from the day shift and 35 from the night shift.
