Concerning the onset of interactions, the majority (77%) were undocumented, 18% had a slow onset, and 6% had a rapid onset. Regarding the severity, 81% of the interactions were moderate, 10% were major, and 9% were minor. By mechanism of action, 48% were pharmacodynamic and 37% were pharmacokinetic. Regarding age groups, the majority of the population were adults (83 patients), followed by young people (81 patients). The specialty with the highest number of drug interactions was internal medicine, with 17 cases out of 88 prescriptions attended.Publicación Acceso abierto Comportamiento del antígeno carcinoembrionario en diversas patologías de pacientes adultos hospitalizados y ambulatorios en el Hospital Naval, año 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-23) Sotomayor Castro, Miguel Angel; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelObjective: To determine the characteristics of Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) use in oncology patients at the Naval Medical Center in Lima in 2019. Method: The clinical records of individuals with colorectal, gastric, and ovarian neoplastic diagnoses from 2019 were located in the laboratory database and archive area. Serum CEA data were collected for both single and multiple dosages to observe their characteristics under the parameters of dosage, sex, age, cancer type, disease evolution, and type of care. Results: 29 patients had a single monitoring, 17 had two, 9 had three, and 5 had five. 54% of male patients had one dosage, while females had 47%. Younger patients had two monitorings, while adults and older adults had up to five, with 2 and 3 cases respectively. Patients with gastric cancer had five monitorings, and those with colorectal and ovarian cancer had three. 48 patients had a favorable outcome, and 12 patients with an unfavorable outcome received one, two, three, and five monitorings in equal proportion. 39 cases were outpatient, and 21 were hospitalized. Conclusions: In all cases evaluated, the CEA dosage showed that 29 patients had a single dosage and 5 had five monitorings. The dosage was higher in women (up to five monitorings in 9% of cases) and in older adults (39 cases). It was also higher in gastric cancer patients (up to five monitorings). 48 patients had favorable outcomes and 12 patients had unfavorable outcomes.Publicación Acceso abierto Cumplimiento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción de recetas atendidas a pacientes ambulatorios en un instituto pediátrico Lima – Perú enero a marzo 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-01-06) Carrión Pozo, Guadalupe Edit; Oyarce Alvarado, ElmerThe research methodology was a basic, non-experimental, quantitative study with probabilistic sampling. The sample consisted of 364 medical prescriptions from outpatient patients who obtained medication from the emergency pharmacy and met the inclusion criteria. An 18-item data collection form was developed to gather information. Data processing was performed using Excel 2010 and SPSS version 23. It was determined that 100% of the prescriptions had some deficiency or omission. The compliance percentages for good prescribing practices across different dimensions were: patient data, 83.8%; medication data, 74.7%; prescription validity, 1.9%; and prescription legibility, 52.2% (with 47.8% non-compliance). The research concluded that the results demonstrate that the prescriptions reviewed do not meet the requirements of current regulations, which has a negative impact on the treatment and health recovery of the pediatric patient.Publicación Acceso abierto Cumplimiento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción en pacientes de consulta externa del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN) en enero del año 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-11-20) Julca Chinchay, Alex Paul; Ynga Mendoza, Christian; Herencia Torres, Victor ReynaldoThe present study aims to determine compliance with good prescribing practices in standardized single prescriptions from the Central Pharmacy service for patients attended in the Outpatient Department of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN) in January 2017. According to the results obtained in Indicator 2 (drug data), none of the sub-indicators complied. According to the results obtained in Indicator 3 (prescribing physician data), none of the sub-indicators complied. In Indicator 4 (others), 99.06% complied with the use of legible handwriting, and 77.18% recorded the non-use of abbreviations.
