(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-09-28) Carranza Paucar, Grecia; Tello Jiménez, Carmen Paula

Critical review: effect of nutraceuticals in the patient with osteoarthritis.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-06-26) Morales Peña, Mayra Flor; Bohórquez Medina, Andrea Lisbet
Osteoarthritis is a joint disease characterized by mechanical pain and stiffness that leads to a progressive loss or decline in joint function causing physical disability and affecting quality of life. The present secondary research titled as a critical review: Nutritional management of patients with osteoarthritis, aimed to identify the benefits of the use of nutraceuticals in patients with osteoarthritis. The clinical question was: Will the consumption of Nutraceuticals relieve the pain caused by osteoarthritis? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, SCOPUS, SCIENCE DIRECT, finding 451 articles, 16 being selected that have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally selecting the review titled: Nutraceuticals and pain due to osteoarthritis, which has a level of evidence AI and Grade of STRONG Recommendation. The critical comment allows us to conclude that the inclusion of various nutraceuticals in the patients' diet improves the patient's quality of life, which is why comprehensive care is required, allowing health personnel to integrate these compounds into the patients' diet. with properties suitable for treating osteoarthritis.

Materials and methods: 10 scientific articles related to the evidence about the effectiveness of the pain assessment scale in the intensive care unit belonging to the Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo, Medline Pubmed data were systematically reviewed, being analyzed through of the Grade scale, in order to study its strength and quality of evidence. Results: In all scientific articles, the effectiveness of the pain scales is corroborated, since results are observed when pain is stimulated to identify the magnitude of this indicator in neonates; 10% of the articles record them in the notes. of nursing, another 10% indicate that different pain scales should be used according to the gestational age of the neonate. Conclusions: The effectiveness of the pain assessment scale in neonatal intensive care units is evident, but not all institutions apply it for the assessment of neonates and thus reduce the pain they perceive.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-11-10) Pimentel Gonzales, Isela Rosa; Jordán Liza, María Marleni; Millones Gómez, Segundo Germán
Objective: Determine the effectiveness of sweet solutions for pain control during painful procedures in the newborn. Materials and Methods: The systematic study of 10 articles on the effectiveness of sweet solutions for pain control in the neonate was selected through a critical reading of recent and relevant studies. These selected instruments are published in Pubmed, Scielo, Redalyc, Cochrane, Lilacs, Elsevier.; The population was 25 scientific articles and 10 were chosen. The selected articles were subjected to critical reading, using the GRADE system. Results: Of the 10 scientific articles reviewed, 90% show that the use of different sweet solutions is effective for pain control in the newborn. The four meta-analyses affirm that the use of sucrose and dextrose are effective for pain control during painful procedures such as venipuncture, orogastric tube insertion, and heel puncture. Conclusions: Scientific articles systematically reviewed show that the use of sweet solutions contributes to minimizing pain stress in newborns who are subject to painful procedures; It is better to use sweet solutions as it is an easily accessible and low-cost method that has demonstrated fewer side effects.
