COVID-19 and its impact on blood donations in the blood bank service at Hipólito Unanue Hospital, Lima, 2020
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-17) Trujillo Mucha, Milagros Nicolet; Ascarza Gallegos, Justo Angelo
The aim of the present study was to determine the impact of COVID-19 on blood donations at the blood bank service of the Hipólito Unanue Hospital in Lima during 2020. The methodology used was quantitative, basic, non-experimental design with a deductive method. The sample consisted of records from the Blood Donation Unit of the hospital’s Blood Bank during 2019 and 2020. The technique used was documentary, employing two matrices: the first to collect information on donations during the specified period, and the second on unsuitable donors. These instruments were validated for reliability through expert judgment. The results revealed that blood donations decreased by 47%, while blood transfusion requirements only increased by 0.05%. Some reasons for donor ineligibility increased, such as low hemoglobin, unsuitable veins, and recent partner, while others decreased, such as risky behavior, jaundice, and infectious processes. It was concluded that there was a significant change in the number of donors before and after the COVID-19 pandemic (p<0.05).

Neurorehabilitation physiotherapy in functional activities in patients with post covid19 polyneuropathy. In a primary care center in huancayo, 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-13) Canchaya Ore, Judy Janeth; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose Antonio
Post-COVID-19 polyneuropathy is characterized by direct injury to peripheral nerves and muscles, leading to muscle loss. The syndrome of immobility due to prolonged mechanical ventilation causes muscle weakness, critical illness, myopathies, and neuromuscular diseases. These polyneuropathies may lead to patients becoming dependent on caregivers for activities of daily living such as dressing, transferring, using the toilet, continence, and bathing. These functional activities will be treated and restored through a neurorehabilitation program, which will help the patient regain functional independence and reintegrate into basic and functional activities, as well as socio-family activities, promoting greater independence.

Pandemic mourning for covid-19 and loneliness in adults from 35 to 60 years of age in Metropolitan Lima, 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-26) Gutierrez Bravo, Andrea del Pilar; Lizano Villatty, Richard Viviano
The objective of the study was to determine whether there is a relationship between COVID-19 pandemic grief and loneliness in adults aged 35 to 60 years from Lima Metropolitana in 2023. A quantitative approach was used, with a basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The sample consisted of 101 adults aged 35 to 60 years from Lima Metropolitana. The Pandemic Grief Scale (PGS) and the Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale were applied. Results showed that 63.4% of adults had low levels of pandemic grief, 29.7% had moderate levels, and 6.9% had high levels. Regarding loneliness, 86.1% of adults had medium levels, 7.9% had low levels, and 5.9% had high levels. It was concluded that the correlation between pandemic grief and loneliness in adults is direct and significant (p < 0.05), with a low degree (rho = 0.273), meaning that as levels of pandemic grief fluctuate, so do loneliness levels.

Suicidal ideation and post-pandemic stress in young adults in a district of Metropolitan Lima - 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-28) Jimenez Merino, Arely Maru; Ortiz Alcántara, Mercedes Inés
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between suicidal ideation and stress experienced by young adults after the pandemic period in a specific district of Lima Metropolitana during 2023. A quantitative, non-experimental, and correlational methodology was adopted. The target population consisted of young adults between the ages of 20 and 29 living in the district of Chorrillos. To assess suicidal ideation, the Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale (SSI) was applied, while stress levels were measured using the Global Stress Perception Scale (EPGE-14). The results revealed that 99.2% of participants had low suicidal ideation, while 66.3% reported moderate stress levels and 21.7% reported severe stress levels. Statistical analysis showed a significant correlation (p = 0.010) between suicidal ideation and post-pandemic stress in young adults. However, a very low positive correlation (Rho = 0.173) was observed between the two variables. Based on these findings, it is concluded that there is a connection between suicidal ideation and stress levels in young adults after the pandemic, with suicidal ideation increasing as post-pandemic stress levels rise, and vice versa.
