Composición nutricional, capacidad antioxidante y actividad antibacteriana de la planta silvestre alimenticia Peperomia Crystallina Ruiz & Pav. (Limonyuyu) Perú, 2022

Determinar la composición nutricional, capacidad antioxidante y actividad antibacteriana de la planta silvestre alimenticia Peperomia crystallina Ruiz & Pav. (Limonyuyu). Metodología: Investigación aplicada, con enfoque mixto. Composición nutricional cuantitativa en planta original métodos: Cálculo MS-INN Collazos 1993; AOAC, 2Ist Edition 2019; Diferencias MS-INN Collazos 1993; Métodos Oficiales de Análisis de los Alimentos: A. Madrid, Vicente 1994; NTP 1980 (Revisada el 2011); NTP 1999 (Revisada el 2019); composición nutricional cualitativa del extracto hidroalcohólico: el reactivo Molis, Fehling A y Fehling B para carbohidratos, proteínas con Ninhidrina. La capacidad antioxidante de planta original método de Arnao, Marino y Cano 2001; Swain T, Y Hillis 1959; extracto hidroalcohólico método 2,2-Difenil-1-Picrilhidrazilo (DPPH). Actividad antibacteriana del extracto hidroalcohólico sobre Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 se comparó con la escala turbométrica de Mc. Farland, y se estimó por inspección visual. Resultados: El Limonyuyu posee proteínas, carbohidratos, calorías, vitamina C, hierro, magnesio, potasio, sodio, fibra cruda, humedad y cenizas. Los extractos hidroalcohólicos poseen una alta capacidad antioxidante a concentración de 100µg que inhibió el 24.577% del radical DPPH con p=0.00001488 y alta actividad antibacteriana sobre Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 con halos de inhibición > 14.99 mm para los extractos hidroalcohólicos al 25%, 50%, 75% con un p=0.01563; p=0.000000003716; p=0.00000000001465. Conclusión: la Peperomia crystallina Ruiz & Pav. (Limonyuyu) demostró poseer una composición nutricional variada, capacidad antioxidante frente al DPPH y actividad antibacteriana sobre Escherichia coli ATCC 25922.

Uso de congona “Peperomia congona sodiro” como alternativa de tratamiento para aliviar la migraña en pobladores que acuden al Mercado San Antonio, Cajamarca 2024

Currently, migraine represents a serious public health challenge with a high prevalence in the global population, impacting quality of life, productivity, and economic expenses, especially among women. Studies indicate that Congona alleviates migraine symptoms due to its analgesic properties that ease headaches. The objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between Congona consumption and migraine relief as an alternative treatment for individuals who visit the San Antonio market. The method of this study was hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative approach; the type of research was basic; with a correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional design; applied to a population that frequents the San Antonio market from April to October, with a sample of 385 individuals where simple random probabilistic sampling was used. A questionnaire was therefore applied as the instrument for data collection. The results showed significant differences, providing evidence of migraine relief, supported by a p-value <0.05. The conclusion was that there is indeed a relationship between Congona consumption and migraine relief as an alternative treatment among users who visit the San Antonio market, supported by a p-value <0.05, rejecting the null hypothesis (Ho) and accepting the alternative hypothesis (H1).

Uso medicinal de hojas de Peperomia congona Sodiro “congona” en relación con procesos inflamatorios en usuarios de un mercado de plantas medicinales de Lima, 2022

The objective of this research was to identify the relationship between the medicinal use of Peperomia congona Sodiro leaves ("Congona") and inflammatory processes among users of a medicinal plant market in Lima, 2022. Method: This is a cross-sectional study with a descriptive-correlational, non-experimental scope and a quantitative, basic, hypothetical-deductive approach, with a sample of 384 users. Data collection was conducted using a survey with a questionnaire as the instrument, and the data obtained were processed using SPSS version 25. Results: Among the 384 users surveyed, 51.3% were female, 51.0% were over 49 years old, 49.2% had a secondary education level, and 63.0% belonged to the middle socioeconomic class. Additionally, 70.8% obtained the medicinal plant through recommendations from family, friends, or neighbors and used its leaves for pain and inflammation. A total of 266 (69.3%) prepared the Congona leaves as an infusion, and 272 (70.8%) administered them orally and topically. Regarding inflammatory processes, 128 (33.3%) of users used Congona leaves for otitis symptoms, 143 (37.2%) for gingivitis symptoms, and 187 (48.7%) for gastritis symptoms. Conclusions: A significant relationship was identified (p=0.000; p<0.05) with a moderate positive correlation (Spearman's Rho = 0.606) between the medicinal use of Peperomia congona Sodiro leaves ("Congona") and inflammatory processes among users of a medicinal plant market in Lima, 2022.
