Ítem Acceso abierto Satisfaction with family life and childhood maladaptive perfectionism in students of a private educational institution in Lima Este, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-03) Palomares Rodríguez, Solange Stefani; Urbano Katayama, Víctor ManuelThe aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the variables of satisfaction with family life and maladaptive child perfectionism in schoolchildren from a private educational institution in East Lima. This research was quantitative, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design, as statistics were applied to quantify results and test the relationship between the variables, with instruments applied at a single point in time. The sample consisted of 90 students of both sexes, aged between 11 and 12 years, enrolled in “Capitán Alipio Ponce Vásquez” school. The technique used was a survey, with the evaluation instruments being the Child Perfectionism Scale (EPI) and the Satisfaction with Family Life Scale (SWFLS). After applying the instruments, the results showed a medium level (55.6%) of family life satisfaction, with a trend toward high levels (36.7%) and low levels (7.8%). Similarly, the predominant level of maladaptive child perfectionism was medium (72.2%), with a trend toward high levels (21.1%) and low levels (6.7%), as reported by the students. Finally, a significant inverse correlation (p < 0.05) of low degree (rho = -0.296) was established between satisfaction with family life and maladaptive child perfectionism, meaning that as satisfaction increases, maladaptive perfectionism decreases.
