Ítem Acceso abierto Costs of hemodialysis versus peritoneal dialysis in chronic kidney disease.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-12-03) Espinoza Nava, Lizbeth; Vasquez Ñique, Fatima Alexandra; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MariaObjective: To analyze and systematize the available evidence on the cost difference between hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis in patients with chronic kidney disease. Materials and Methods: Systematic reviews are an observational and retrospective research design that synthesizes the results of multiple primary studies. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific clinical practice questions. Results: According to the results obtained from the systematic review conducted in this study, the results show that, out of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 80% (1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) demonstrate that peritoneal dialysis is less costly than hemodialysis, while the remaining 20% (2, 4) do not directly address our research question. Conclusions: It is concluded that the costs are lower in peritoneal dialysis compared to hemodialysis.Ítem Acceso abierto Costs of hemodialysis versus peritoneal dialysis in chronic kidney disease.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-12-03) Espinoza Nava, Lizbeth; Vasquez Ñique, Fatima Alexandra; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MariaObjective: To analyze and systematize the available evidence on the cost difference between hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis in patients with chronic kidney disease.
