Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of an exercise program to prevent falls in older adults living in the community(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-02) Ibañez Ramos, María Elena; Tapia Hermoza, Juan Renzo Antonelo; Perez Siguas, Rosa EvaMaterials and Methods: A systematic review of international research articles was conducted, obtained through searches in databases: Pubmed, Epistemonikos, Sciencedirect, Cochrane, Researchgate, which were selected and analyzed using the GRADE system to determine the respective degree of evidence. The search for articles was carried out using the DECS and MESH descriptors for searches in Spanish and English. The systematic review consists of 10 identified scientific articles, of which 40% (4/10) are meta-analyses, 20% (2/10) are systematic reviews, and 40% (4/10) are randomized controlled trials. Regarding the origin of the articles, 20% (2/10) are from Australia, and 80% (8/10) are from France, South Korea, the United States, Malaysia, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, and Spain, respectively. Results: 100% (10/10) indicate that exercise programs are effective in preventing falls in elderly individuals living in the community. Conclusions: It was found that 10 out of 10 (10/10) of the studies concluded that an exercise program is effective in preventing falls in older adults living in the community.
