(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-01-08) Gamarra Mariño, Johany Vianca; Cárdenas de Fernández, María Hilda
Introduction: In the district of Supe one of the main economic activities is agriculture and commerce, it is common to see patients with cholinergic symptoms and sometimes victims with altered sensorium or coma, it is common to observe a heterogeneity of factors, some not even described in the scientific literature; Aware of this reality and convinced of the importance and impact that the use and abuse of organophosphorus substances have on the health and well-being of individuals and their community, the research initiative arose to measure the factors associated with the form of organophosphorus intoxication in patients admitted to the emergency department of the hospital of Supe. Objective: To determine the associated factors and forms of organophosphorus poisoning in patients in the emergency department of a public hospital in Supe 2022. Methods: The study will be observational, descriptive, correlational and retrospective cross-sectional, a sample of 75 patients with organophosphorus poisoning in the emergency department of the Supe Hospital will be taken intentionally. The instrument used to measure the variables will be an observation form validated by a group of experts. Results: it is expected to reveal the problems observed in the study scenario and reaffirm the hypothesis put forward.

Correct management of organophosphate poisoning in patients treated in emergency services
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Valdivieso Aquije, Judith Jacquelin; Obregon Zorrilla, Yolanda Noemi; Gómez Gonzales, Walter Edgar
Objective: To determine the correct management of acute poisoning in patients attended in emergency services. Materials and Methods: A systematic review was conducted to synthesize the results from multiple primary studies, which are an essential part of evidence-based nursing, identifying relevant studies to answer specific clinical practice questions. Results: The review covered 10 scientific articles on the correct management of organophosphate poisoning in patients attending emergency services. Of the studies reviewed, 30% (3) were from India, 20% (2) from England, 20% from Ecuador, and 10% each from Brazil, Uruguay, and Spain. The articles came from databases Medline, Lilacs, and Cochrane Plus. Conclusions: The reviewed articles show that atropine is the antidote treatment, whereas the use of oximes for acute poisoning is not optimal, as they are not universal for all agents. There is a need for clinical trials not only with oximes but also with other antidotes, such as hydrolases, pyridostigmine carbamate, glutamate antagonists, and adenosine receptor agonists (clonidine).

Effective interventions in managing organophosphate poisoning in patients presenting to the emergency department
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-17) Burga Muñoz, Elsa; Rivadeneyra López, Nancy del Pilar; Calsin Pacompia, Wilmer
Objective: To analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of interventions in the management of organophosphate poisoning in patients who attend the emergency service. Materials and Methods: The type of research was quantitative and the design was a systematic review, the population and sample were 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases, the instrument was a database search: Cochrane Library, Scielo British Medical Journal, PubMed, Lancet, Wiley Online Library, EBSCO, the GRADE Method was used to evaluate the articles, which evaluated the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: 100% articles, 20% Peru and Brazil 10% Spain, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, India, Venezuela and Argentina. In relation to the study designs, 30% systematic review, 20% cases and controls, 10% review, meta-analysis, 20% retrospective, 10% prospective and 10% descriptive Conclusions: It is concluded that the most effective interventions were decontamination, monitoring of vital functions, care of the airways, gastric lavage, use of activated charcoal, administration of atropine, in addition, patients poisoned by organophosphates must be subjected to A rapid clinical assessment of their vital functions, as well as a good identification of the diagnoses and nursing intervention, allows the patient to be seen as a whole, taking into account the timely treatment that the patient must receive in the biological, physical and mental sphere of the patient. .

Effectiveness of activated charcoal as a treatment for acute gastric poisoning
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-11-12) Flores Beltran, Erik Darwin; Matta Solis, Hernán Hugo
Objective: To analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of activated charcoal as a treatment for acute gastric poisoning. Methodology: This is an experimental, descriptive, observational, and retrospective systematic review. The search was restricted to full-text articles, and the selected articles underwent critical reading to evaluate their evidence grade using the GRADE method to assess the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations. Twelve articles were selected, with 66% from Spain (8), 16% from Denmark (2), the Dominican Republic (1), and Finland (1), respectively. Results: Of the 12 articles reviewed, 10/12 articles show that activated charcoal administered within the first hour after ingesting the drug reduced the effect on the drug by 48.5%, which was statistically significant. Conclusions: Activated charcoal is effective for managing gastric poisoning in adults when applied within the first hour.

Efficacy of pralidoxime in the treatment of intoxication by organophosphorus pesticides in adult patients who come to the emergency
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-04-07) Silvera Chipana, Jans Evert; Saravia Diaz, Graciela Miriam; Remuzgo Artezano, Anika
Objective: Systematize the efficacy of pralidoxime in the treatment of organophosphate pesticide poisoning in adult patients who present to the emergency department. Materials and methods: This research study is of a qualitative and quantitative nature, utilizing the following databases: Pubmed, Springer Link, Cochrane Database. Results: A search was conducted for 10 scientific articles, of which 6 (60%) are systematic reviews, 3 (30%) are experimental studies, and 1 (10%) is a descriptive case study. Sixty percent of the articles conclude that pralidoxime is not effective in the treatment of organophosphate pesticide poisoning in adult patients who present to the emergency department, 30% show evidence of the efficacy of pralidoxime in the treatment of organophosphate pesticide poisoning in adult patients, and 10% of the articles are inconclusive. Conclusions: It is concluded that 6/10 articles demonstrate that pralidoxime is not effective in the treatment of organophosphate pesticide poisoning in adult patients who present to the emergency department. 3/10 articles show evidence of the efficacy of pralidoxime in the treatment of organophosphate pesticide poisoning in adult patients, and 1/10 concludes that there is no comparison of efficacy.

Risk of neurological alterations due to chronic mercury poisoning in mining workers.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-22) Medina Sanchez, Lady; Rivera Lozada de Bonilla, Oriana
Objective: To analyze and systematize the evidence on the risk of neurological disorders due to chronic mercury poisoning in miners. Materials and methods: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles was found in the following databases: Epystemonikos, Pubmed, Medline, EBSCO. They allowed us to find 10 scientific evidences. The selected articles were subjected to a critical reading. The quality of the evidence and strength of the recommendations were evaluated with the GRADE System to identify the degree of evidence. Results: Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 40% (n=4/10) are systematic reviews, 50% (n=5/10) are analytical cross-sectional studies and 10% (n=1/10) is a descriptive cross-sectional study. According to the results obtained from the systematic review carried out in the present study, they come from the countries of the United States (40%), followed by Sweden (10%), Brazil (10%), Indonesia (10%), Ghana (10%), Chile (10%) and Japan (10%). Considering the research designs, systematic reviews, cross-sectional studies were included, considering that 100% (n = 10/10) chronic mercury poisoning causes the risk of neurological disorders in miners. Conclusions: In 100% of the reviewed articles it was shown that chronic mercury poisoning causes the risk of neurological disorders in miners.
